I am not at all sure about it?
Smacks of mutton - what do you all think?

Oh dear - if this is true I will have to throw out most of my wardrobe in 2 years!

Mercy · 24/05/2007 20:44

hot/fuschia pink looks great on fairly/ very dark/black skin tones.

Fizzbuzz, I like the rose pink colours too. Anything from baby pink to deep red rose suits me. All lilacs/lavenders/purples and olive green goes well too

Blue, yellow, brightish green, red and orange are bad for me.

Just as well I wear a lot of black!

Bouquetsofdynomite · 24/05/2007 21:01

I think pale pastels probably look worse the older you get - your skin gets paler and you have to dye your hair a lighter shade (unless you keep the grey then fairplay to you).

i love pink and am blonde and fair but having bought a pale pink pair of crocs o just feel a bit naff in them whereas i wear my olive green with pride
i have a delightful cashmere shrug hich has the same effect on me....just not sure...

Otter, I'm sure you'll look fab!

You are a tease - norty girl!

Bouquetsofdynomite · 24/05/2007 21:15

If you wear the pink Crocs with no other pink (but maybe matching handbag) you'll be fine. Then you can always claim they're ironic (like the hideous gold ballet shoes I bought this week and am struggling to get the nerve to wear.)

AnneJones · 25/05/2007 10:13

In defence of pink.

I love pink and red - both suit me well - though I don't wear head-to-toe pink and I prefer good tailoring and plain fabrics so not really that girly. Pink just makes my skin glow somehow. There are 100s of shades of pink too, not just insipid pale pink or piggy pink. The deep pinks and reds are gorgeous.

Pink used to be considered too masculine a colour for girls in Victorian times, when blue was considered feminine.

Am nearly 35 but don't see any reason why I should stop wearing a colour that looks nice on me due to a number.

I'm not quite 35 yet and pink is one of the colours I suit. I did go through a black phase in my teens but have come back round to pink. However I can't do acid greens, yellows and oranges.

Surfermum · 25/05/2007 13:58

I'm over 40 and still wear pink. But then I still wear board shorts so what do I know.

horsemadgal · 30/05/2007 23:48

Eh? My granny wore pink in her 80's, she looked fab.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 31/05/2007 00:09

Otter - you could wear a pink bin bag and look fab.

I stopped wearing pink a few years ago. It just doesn't suit me anymore. Is this because I've outgrown it?

purpleduck · 31/05/2007 00:49

I reckon I'm 36 and I am old enough to wear any damn thing i want!!! I always think "when i'm 80, i'll wonder what the hell my problem was that i thought i was old (or whatever) at 36!" Do what you want

alipiggie · 31/05/2007 01:08

Well sorry I'm nearly 42 and love pale pink in fact would love even more in my wardrobe.

Pinkchampagne · 31/05/2007 09:17

My mum has some pink items of clothing & she is pushing 60!
I don't have a lot of pink, but that's because I'm not a big pink fan, not because I feel past it!

Pinkchampagne · 31/05/2007 09:18

I like certain pink drinks though, obviously!
