Dh and I are going away in a few weeks, I have been writing a list.
9x t-shirts/ shirts seems ridiculous doesn't it?!

4 day tops, 2 day bottoms, 2 evening outfits (if applicable). Two pairs shoes.

hugoagogo · 26/06/2018 11:23

I was thinking, what with driving a fair bit two of the days and walking loads every day I will need a clean shirt every morning and evening.

Where are you going ? Will the weather be hot ? More underwear never goes wrong, especially if it’s hot.

Branleuse · 26/06/2018 17:44

id take 2 bottoms, 4 tops, 4 knickers, one bra.
Or 4 dresses. I also take one cardi/hoodie

OhTheRoses · 26/06/2018 17:48

Where are you going? I'd manage perfectly well with four dresses, a nice cardigan/pahmina and a jersey/sweatshirt. One pair of good walkers and one pair of pretty sandals.

Clean dress for evening; wear it the following day.

OhTheRoses · 26/06/2018 17:50

Ooh Branleuse two bras I think and I'd probably take 6 knickers.

SleepingStandingUp · 26/06/2018 17:53

Day 1: comfy driving outfit. Get in, shower and change to evening outfit 1
Day 2: day outfit and evening outfit
Day 3: day outfit and evening outfit
Day 4: day outfit and evening outfit
Day 5: comfy driving outfit

So what you wear to leave house plus minimum
5 day tshirts and 3 bottoms
4 evening outfits so dresses or tops/bottom. Possibly reduce 1 bottoms if black trousers type thing that can combine well

10 knickers
3 bras
Socks as needed

If you don't need to worry about flight restrictions take what you want.

However take enough baggage so you can sort things you don't end up wearing from those you do.
Take a bikini. You never now when you can swim or sunbathe.
Personally I take dresses for the driving ( looks smarter when you get out of the car and less sweaty on the bottom when you've been sat down a lot) and seperates for the evening so I don't end up taking a million outfits.
Make sure everything you take looks good on you and you enjoy wearing it.

hugoagogo · 26/06/2018 18:52

sleeping's list is pretty much how I'd envisioned it, but it seems like such a lot!
We will be in the uk, so it might be hot but might be cold you can never really tell can you?
I definitely won't be needing a bikini!Shock

Is there a spa etc?

I'd add a swimming costume, and a good do'all cardigan or similar. Pair of walking shoes, pair of going out shoes and pair of middle of the road comfies

CountFosco · 26/06/2018 19:10

Swimmings list seems about right, and if you are driving who cares if you overpack? But I am the woman who took 5 pairs of shoes for a 4 day trip (inc travelling time) for a funeral so maybe don't listen to my advice!

hugoagogo · 26/06/2018 20:54

No spa.( not entirely sure what goes on at one tbh) Dh is afraid of water and I am afraid of people seeing me in a swimsuit.
Don't worry about me forgetting a cardigan- I pack a cardigan every day, even today- you never know.Wink
