Hair removal (down there!)

The best hair removal for pubic hair (down below)

I've been thinking of waxing but my skin is really sensitive and I'm scared! Hmm

Possibly hair removal cream? Has anyone tried that? (Can you use it in the nooks and crannies?)

Just really curious as only used a razor all my life.

Hot wax instead of strip wax would be my tip! Lasts the longest, professionally done for best results and good for sensitive skin :)

Ella99 · 24/06/2018 12:38

The pain!!!! I'm so scared!

I got hot waxed for years it gives the best finish for longest.

TantricTwist · 24/06/2018 12:38

Take an ibuprofen half an hour before you get it done.

3DSpex · 24/06/2018 12:39

Hair removal cream? Hell NO!!!

Waxing of you must.

happymummy12345 · 24/06/2018 12:44

I've only ever shaved. I was too terrified to even get my eyebrows waxed until a few months ago, now having them done doesn't bother me at all. But I'm not brave enough to wax anywhere else.

Moonflower12 · 24/06/2018 12:45

Waxing definitely! Professional one. Don't do the hair removal cream. I speak from experience!!!
Take either paracetamol or Ibuprofen before and don't go when it's near your period- your pain threshold is lower.

PurpleWithRed · 24/06/2018 12:45

it’s up to you if you want to do it or not. But if you do in my experience hot waxing is by far the best option - it’s over quickly, someone else does it so they get all the bits, it feels and looks great if that’s your thing, and the aftergrowth is softer and fluffier than shaving and for me left me with no nasty ingrown hairs, unlike shaving did. Cream is a nightmare - you need to be really really careful where it gets - and shaving just doesn’t get a lovely smooth soft result.

For my first time I booked a bikini wax; that was fine so asked her to carry on. You could do the same.

welshmist · 24/06/2018 12:46

Are you doing it for you or a man?

Ella99 · 24/06/2018 12:50

I just don't want red bumps on holiday if I react bad to the wax! I go on holiday on the 11th so a few days before may help the soreness go down?

welsh, would that determine the method you'd recommend?

Eminybob · 24/06/2018 13:19

Waxing at a salon is the best way to go. I’ve tried at home but can never get a good result.

These days though, I use hair removal cream. Can’t remember the brand, but I’ve got a specific bikini one which you can apply straight from a rounded applicator.

Obviously it doesn’t last as long as waxing, but it lasts longer than shaving and I find I’m less likely to get a rash, I get a terrible rash from shaving.

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 24/06/2018 13:20

Are you doing it for you or a man?

Why? Is there a different method depending , that we aren’t aware of then welsh

Sittinonthefloor · 24/06/2018 13:21

I have tried waxing, shaving & cream - all result in ingrown hairs and a horrible red rush. Last year I bought a trimmer and it is fab! Quick, painless, no in grown hairs. Confident in bikini for the first time ever! I love it! It takes the hairs of a bit less close to the skin than the razor hence no ingrown blighters.

Sittinonthefloor · 24/06/2018 13:27

trimmer third or fourth review is particularly encouraging

@sittinonthefloor. Do you get stubble from that trimmer thing? Looks good.

HarrietSchulenberg · 24/06/2018 13:36

Cream every time. There is not a cat in hell's chance that I'm having hot wax near my undercarriage. Cream is painless and works brilliantly.

TantricTwist · 24/06/2018 13:41

I just shave now after years of hot waxing, I just dont care who sees any possible slight invisible stubble on holiday, I mean who is actually going to stare that hard at my area.

Sittinonthefloor · 24/06/2018 13:55

Yes, you would get stubble if you didn't have a frequent mow but I'm not sure anyone would notice, certainly less obvious than bright red rash! You use it dry so is very quick!

JDSTER · 24/06/2018 13:58

Hot wax all the way. Hot wax makes it sound like it could burn but it’s not that hot. It’s much less painful than strip wax and also doesn’t leave bumpy spotty bits. I used to get strip wax as it was cheaper but I tried hot wax once and wouldn’t go back to strip wax As others have suggested, first time take your usual painkillers 30-60 mins beforehand, if you’re worried about pain.

Wanderwall · 24/06/2018 15:08

Veet. The one that comes with a sponge.

Use the soft side to apply it and the rough side to wash it off with in the shower. Easy and good result.

RhythmStix · 24/06/2018 19:42

Or you could just be content with a lovely hairy minge. I am.Grin

SuperSuperSuper · 24/06/2018 19:52

Veet has always been fine for me.
