Starting a new wardrobe from scratch

I think I need to start over with my wardrobe. I like about 5% of the clothes I own and 2 pairs of shoes out of about 25. I’ve got 2 little ones under 18 months so all the clothes I’ve bought in the last 2+ years are maternity/nursing stuff and giant knickers!

I just despair at the sight of my wardrobe. A lot of the clothes I’ve bought online and kept them out of desperation (e.g. need something to wear for an occasion so had to pick the best of a bad bunch) and a lot are just cheap stuff I’ve picked up in the supermarket and not tried on so I don’t think there’s much that really suits me.

Once I’ve lost the baby weight from my one month old I’ll be size 10, 5’5”. I’m 33. Where to begin? My instinct is to spend more than I usually do on some basics like decent jeans and plain tops. What shops should I look at? What style of clothes will stand the test of time? Ta Smile

I did a personal shopper thing at John Lewis. Very good, worked to my budget and bought things that I would never have usually looked at. Well worth it.

Yes to personal shopper experience at John Lewis. I did this after maternity leave and got a whole new wardrobe- was fantastic

Fab idea, thanks so much. I’m going to clear out the wardrobe in anticipation. I find it really hard not to look ‘mumsy’ so hope I can get some good advice.
