Size 10 shoes for 14 year old DD

Can anyone recommend where to buy shoes for my DD. My DD is nearly 15 and her feet are a size 10. She's previously had school shoes from Clarks women's department but they only go up to size 9. Her school shoes are too tight and I don't know where to look for nice (not old fashioned) black school shoes that are not too expensive. TIA x

Could she wear Doc Martens shoes? The mens ones I mean, which are the same as womens. They're cool and classic imo

MrsBertBibby · 22/06/2018 18:29

Long Tall Sally does women's shoes up to 13, but it's a bad time of year to get them!

hugglesfor4 · 22/06/2018 18:51

I've had a quick look at Long Tall Sally and Zalando but the prices are quite high and I'm really worried incase they grow over the 6 weeks hood and I've spent a fortune on shoes that won't fit x

Not had a look at Doc Martins. I tried Kickers but they only go up to a 9. You'd think that would be big enough for a girl!

A day trip to Chiltern St in London for shoes so that it's a positive experience as this can have a pretty massive impact on self esteem when all your friends are wearing pretty pumps and you're in men's shoes.
Google Magnus shoes (not too horribly expensive) or Crispin Shoes ( v spenny but oh do lovely!!!)
Good luck x

Thanks but London is too far for us. I'm off to google those sites now. I've found ballet type pumps but they're not acceptable. She wants patent leather, with a buckle and a slight heel as being 5 ft 9 inch isn't tall enough! It's like looking for a needle in a haystack

Hush puppies? Definitely go up to a 10 & usually comfortable

gandttuesday · 22/06/2018 20:06

Try Asos, they go up to a women's UK 10 and don't break the bank. Might not have any suitable for school but may help for casual shoes!

Passthecake30 · 22/06/2018 21:08

Evans?

photographyaddict · 22/06/2018 21:09

If you want some cheap ones to last until the end of term ASDA go to a size 10 Smile

Puppymania · 22/06/2018 21:15

My DD is also 5' 9" and size 10 feet. I was going to recommend long tall Sally, realise they are not cheap though. Our school does not allow doc martins so I would check the rules before you buy, just in case

littleblackdress26 · 22/06/2018 21:16

Evans and yoursclothing.

hugglesfor4 · 22/06/2018 21:16

I forgot about ASOS. We've ordered 2 pairs from them and hopefully she'll like one pair. Typically for a teenager she's chose different designs than we were looking for! Not too expensive either. I've attached photos. Thank you all for your help x

Magnus shoes have an online shop too.

bionicnemonic · 22/06/2018 21:21

You might find some on eBay - you can search by size (put 'UK' in too or US sizes come up)

Attie17 · 22/06/2018 21:22

Asos is a really good bet, as is long tall sally. But worth keeping in mind that a clarks’ size 9 is closer to what many high street shops now count as a 10. (Clarks’ 9 is a European size 43 as far as I can remember, but many other (incorrectly!) shops count a 42 as a 9) It might mean that when you do find a size 10, it is actually similar in size to the Clarks 9.

1sttimeunicorn · 23/06/2018 09:53

I can highly recommend Medissa shoes they would be good for when she is a bit older maybe - I have very narrow but long feet and they are brilliant.

snewname · 23/06/2018 10:04

Brantano used to go up to that size. They have obviously closed down but still have an online presence. I don't know if they still go up to 10 women's size.

Bitconfused75 · 23/06/2018 10:06

La Redoubte do women's shoes up to an 11 I think. Evans are OK but a bit limited.

snewname · 23/06/2018 10:08

And try new look

steppemum · 23/06/2018 10:11

I wear size 10.
Just fir the future - cheap places to buy are:

Long Tall Sally in the sale! (can't afford normal prices)
as others have said Doc Martens unisex (but I find the larger sizes too wide)
Evans - quite a lot - sandals, boots, shoes etc. Go on-line and order in to a local shop
Brantano - our big one has closed, but it is still around in a small shop, again, order on-line and go into shop to try on/return

BigSandyBalls2015 · 23/06/2018 10:15

You'll prob find her feet won't grow anymore. One of my DDs was a size 9 at 14 and still is at nearly 18.

anametouse · 23/06/2018 14:41

Deichman usually have lots of size 10's in and they're really cheap

Amber0685 · 23/06/2018 16:24

Cinderella shoes
