Pregnancy and curly girl method

GreenthoughtInAGreenShade · 16/06/2018 20:00

I’m paranoid about using any drugs/topical things in pregnancy that aren’t definitely okay and totally necessary.

My current dilema is that since my first pregnancy i have started using the curly girl method for my hair (silcone/sulphate free shampoo and conditioner, followed by some sort of curl cream - currently Boots pink creme - and running fingers through rather than brushing).

My question is - are curl creams okay to use in pregnancy? They’re an everyday thing (and i’ve got thick long hair) so no small amount. Any pharmacy-trained people out there who can calm my burgeoning paranoia? Thank you

Chill OP. If you're worried just use some leave in conditioner. The one by Mixed Chics is pretty good Smile

I think you need to chill!!

A bit of curl cream isn't going to harm your baby!

I echo pp, pregnant women use all kinds of beauty products every day with no issues. Something put on your hair is fine, relax op!!!

Blimey. Relax!

Stuff suitable for CG has to be water soluble... or you’d not be able to wash it out.

So... logically, it must be safe? Yes? It literally rinses off...

BrutusMcDogface · 16/06/2018 21:28

Wow. Yes, it'll be fine op. In fact, the curly girl method uses stuff that's pretty low in nasty chemicals, doesn't it?

Thank you all. Logically i know i’m being an idiot, but there is still a small part of brain that goes “aaaah” when i’ve just eaten/taken/put on something i normally use and realise i have no idea if it’s pregnancy suitable. Sorry for making you all roll your eyes so hard, i hope they recover from the strain Smile
