Just had my eyebrows waxed for first time

Part of a sorting myself out post separation campaign.

They were really wide and sparse. I like the right eyebrow but the left doesn't match completely in shape. Is this normal? I think I'm feeling over sensitive partly in case people think I look stupid but also because the beautician had really noticeably different shaped eyebrows herself

Why don't you get hd brows? They look amazing and they last for ages too. They do look better than they do in the before pic but if you're not happy with them the best bet is getting them shaped and filled in. Or just fill them in yourself. Don't be upset though, we've all had bad experiences with things like this at some point!

WhyBird2k · 14/06/2018 15:03

It's OK, you gave it a go, it didn't work out as you liked it and you'll try something else next time! Eyebrows grow out relatively quickly. I think it's your right eyebrow which is thicker than the left at the kind of "start" of the eyebrow. If you have tweezers take one hair out at a time from the lowest point of the thickest part. Remove one and check for symmetry with the right. Then continue until you're happier with it. Don't fear!

Charliepeace83 · 14/06/2018 15:04

Get them tinted that will help!

I am very fair so always have to get my brows dyed. Looks much thicker afterwards.

Also they will grow back .. ask for your money back and if you can deal with it make them tint your brows for free.

Borris · 14/06/2018 15:05

Ok will try later. Out for the school run now. Hope dd is not too harsh

Go for threading next time. You get a much better shape.

nervousnails · 14/06/2018 15:10

Castor oil will help it grow. Use overnight. Also, get a good threading place. Waxing is shit and always made my eyebrows patchy as well.

zenasfuck · 14/06/2018 15:18

Find a recommendation for a good HD Brow person. Unless you tint you are always going to see the really sparse areas

Alternatively consider microblading or tattooing if you want a more solid looking brow and permanent shape

AllyMcBeagle · 14/06/2018 15:28

I think the only real problem is that they are sparse.

You have various options to fill them in - from more permanent options like microblading (which is quite similar to tattooing) and temporary options like I'm using powders and pencils every day.

My favourite powders and pencils are by Anastasia Beverly Hills. You can get them online and they do some really nice shades for cool toned hair which might suit you. Or if you just want something quickly then nip down Boots or Superdrug as they'll have lots of options.

nottinghillgrey · 14/06/2018 15:48

I really don't think threading over wax would have made a difference here, there is clearly lots of brow missing before the waxing took place, the wax is not to blame.

neveradullmoment99 · 14/06/2018 16:06

Noooo!!! Don't get HD brows. They look false and hideous. People think they look good. They don't.

Fishyfingers · 14/06/2018 16:23

why are you upset op? they look a lot better after the wax. and yes you could fill them in or microblade the sparse areas. lots of people fill their eyebrows in there are great eyebrow kits these days in superdrug and boots.

Fishyfingers · 14/06/2018 16:24

do you have a thyroid issue op? coconut oil also helps with hair growth, though castor as pp said is much more popular with hair growth issues.

Borris · 14/06/2018 17:05

I don't know why I'm upset. I think in part it's as I'm going to have to see Xh at the weekend and I'm worried he'll laugh at me. And then the first few posts were like "wooooah who's done that to your eyebrows " although I think they perhaps assumed the bald bits were created by the wax.

Thanks to those who say they look better.

With regards to filling in. Can I do it in a way so as they look natural. I don't wear makeup day to day so don't want massive stand out brows if that makes sense.

HD brows are not for everyone...

RoseWhiteTips · 14/06/2018 17:11

Use a brow pencil and fill in the spaces with light feathery strokes.

RoseWhiteTips · 14/06/2018 17:12

Forget the eyebrow “kit”, all you need is a soft dark blonde pencil. Easy and natural.

BarbaraOcumbungles · 14/06/2018 17:13

I use a revlon eyebrow pencil that has a brush on the end to fill in my patchy eyebrows, sometimes it’s the only make up I wear and I think it looks completely natural. The pencils come in different colours.

Don’t worry about the ex, your brows looks much better now and the patches are super easy to fil in if you want to.

RoseWhiteTips · 14/06/2018 17:14

I would also caution against HD brows. They make everyone look ridiculous.

BarbaraOcumbungles · 14/06/2018 17:14

Yes they definitely do 👍🏼

RoseWhiteTips · 14/06/2018 17:16

Also surely natural brows, even if they are relatively thick, have spaces between the hairs! It is entirely normal which a dark, painted on slug is not.

Ohyesiam · 14/06/2018 17:17

Op, you can fill them in exactly as you want them .

A very sharp brow pencil in a shade that matches your brows can do fine feathery strokes that look like individual hairs . I did this for my sister after she had chemo, I practised for about 10 mins, then it used to take me about 5 mins to do.
Put the pencil in the fridge to harden then it sharpens well.

SporkInTheToaster · 14/06/2018 17:20

The shape is much better post wax. They are very sparse but that seems to be natural for you. I agree re tinting. It can’t hurt and will help them appear thicker as it picks up the teeny, tiny hairs that are otherwise invisible. If you wanted to do more, a bit of a taupey, cool toned pencil stroked through the sparse patches would help to blend.

amyddss · 14/06/2018 17:21

When I say hd brows I don't mean the ones that make people look like clowns pmsl! I've seen some minging ones but ones done more naturally and normally can look great. If it's not for you benefit and some other brands do brilliant eyebrow kits! They're easy to use and you just get used to doing it yourself so you can just get a wax now and again and do the rest yourself. Saves a lot of money aswell because the kit will last you ages.

SporkInTheToaster · 14/06/2018 17:23

As for XH’s opinion? Who gives a stuff? It’s your face. So what if he doesn’t like it or doesn’t approve? Who cares? Is his opinion valuable to you?

RoseWhiteTips · 14/06/2018 17:23

I have never ever seen anyone look better with fake brows. The OP wants a natural look which is very very easy to achieve.
