You were all really helpful with my hen do outfit yesterday. Will this do for the wedding do you think?

I like it. Disclaimer, I have no dress sense Shock

StealthPolarBear · 14/06/2018 15:57

Neither do I so that's a bit concerning :)

Personally I think it's too plain. A wedding is an occasion where you can really push the boat out and go all glam! I don't like it although the colour is nice .

StealthPolarBear · 14/06/2018 16:15

OK thanks, what else is there?

This would be more wedding guest appropriate

I think the first dress is much smarter.
Perhaps you can jazz it up with hot pink or orange accessories?
Or dark navy, if you want to play it a bit safer.
I am afraid I think the second dress looks like something a little girl got out of the dressing up box.

redshoes2017 · 14/06/2018 19:09

I feel bad now saying its plain. If you like it , wear it. It is a pretty colour. Its what you think that matters isnt it :D x

Jonbb · 14/06/2018 19:10

Classy.

Jonbb · 14/06/2018 19:11

The original dress I mean!

StealthPolarBear · 14/06/2018 19:12

Red shoes I genuinely need to hear this stuff. I have no grasp of what you should wear when avbd I need honesty not politeness :o

First dress is lovely - second is a vile frump-fest - or at least it would be in middle-aged, heavily be-norked me.

Although, I would almost certainly spill something down dress #1 Blush

farine · 15/06/2018 08:52

First dress is lovely, very classy and understated but with a pop of colour to make it feel special.

Second dress is in my opinion hideous (and something I probably wore all the time in late 90s!).

StealthPolarBear · 15/06/2018 08:52

OK if I go for that one I need to try it on. I am a little bigger than the model :)
Are there others people would recommend

OP posts:
3stonedown · 15/06/2018 08:55

I like the idea of bright orange accessories. When is the wedding? If in the next 2-3 months I wouldn't bother with cardigan or anything, its really hard to find one that works with the outfit.

farine · 15/06/2018 08:59

What kind of style do you like and feel comfortable in - something similar to the first dress in terms of cut and look? Or something more floaty or edgy?

StealthPolarBear · 15/06/2018 09:00

More the first. But I do dress for work more than going out so am worried I'm just getting a 'work dress' in a colour other than black. I do love that dress though.
Not sure I'll be able to cope cardi less!

ShootingQuadrantids · 15/06/2018 09:07

The first is classy...second one frumpy! I'd go with red, orange or pink accessories. They're opposite on the colour wheel and should look striking. Alternatively you could go with black accessories too ( this would be my choice but I prefer neutral).

StealthPolarBear · 15/06/2018 09:09

Id be more comfortable with black. Or what about silver/shimmery grey?
