Do I need someone to 'do' my colours or can I work out what they are myself?

I'm trying to make myself not look like a bag of shite, I'm hoping to ditch my current heaving wardrobe full of clothes and create a capsule wardrobe that I'm comfortable in and looks nice.
I don't know what suits me and what colours I should wear, can I work this out myself if so I need my colours done and a personal shopper to teach me the ways?

I'm 5ft, size 12, extremely hourglass shaped, big hip and giant boobs but smaller waist.

Dark brown hair with reddish undertones, blue/grey eyes and a pale skin (have been called and 'Englishman Rose?') But my skin has a tendency to go very rosy red (rosacea and blushing)

I think the colours thin is ok but many wind up looking like American newsreaders
A stylish woman at work got it done and she went from being chic to wearing orange and brown and it looks awful.
Yes it put more colour in her cheeks but the look wasn’t right.
It is all about putting colour in your face which generally looks odd. Look at classically stylish Italian women, for example, and they don’t bother with this.
