that you can get from a very well known diy store from about £180 upwards?

thinking of getting one and wondering

a, how do you hide the wires
b, are they any good?
c, which one did you go for.

finally getting around to finishing the front room having moved in 3 months ago

and saw one of these the other day in the store.

TIA

Do you mean an electric fire that you plug in? I've got one, it's like a 'stove' with flame effect. I got it just to see me through before I moved house. They're okay, really they are a fan heater made to look like a fire, if you know what I mean?! It does keep you warm...one problem I couldn't hide the wires!

Sorry can't remember the make, and have lent it out so can't look. It was around £160

Not 100% sure what you mean, but I got a complete fire, surround, hearth and back bit set from B&Q for £99 about 1 year ago.

like a plug-in fireplace? or the stove type?

do you really need the fire to heat the room? If not why not just get a nice-looking fire surround and put plants / candles / a screen etc in the fireplace - no wires then.
