Has anyone successfully removed these annoying flesh coloured bumps or know how to cover them?
I detest them. It’s all I can focus on and I feel like it’s all people see when they look at my face.
I’m not too ugly otherwise but I feel like these make me look awful and are damaging my confidence.

I thought they were called millia

MeToo1234 · 09/06/2018 21:30

No, I think millia are easier to remove. These are larger than millia.

I have these on my inner eye. I have tirelessly looked to get rid of them to no avail. Place marking. Would love to eradicate.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/06/2018 21:33

I was suggested Retin A by a doctor many years ago. It did nothing. Seemingly they can come back too :(

neveradullmoment99 · 09/06/2018 21:35

..and what makes them worse is that they are on the eye and so a very delicate place for removal. I am with you on the confidence front. I wear my glasses because, working in a school, felt even more conscious of children asking me what the white bumps were :(

MeToo1234 · 09/06/2018 21:37

I’ve various natural methods like lemon juice and coconut oil but either I’m not trying for long enough or it does nothing anyway.
I hate them. I feel like they stand out so much. I try to accept they are just a part of me but I’m failing. I’m tentively stepping back into dating after a difficult divorce but I have chickened out of going on a date because I think the guy will think ‘oh my goodness, how ugly!’

My glasses would just magnify them more, I’m so blind! Grin
Only one child in my SEN class has ever mentioned them and not in a negative way, but I feel they age me!

....so I wear lenses...

Mine are on my inner eye so aren't seen when I wear glasses. I hope someone posts some answers. I hate hate hate them. I have tried to use concealer. It can work ok on mine. Have you tried some heavy duty concealer?

neveradullmoment99 · 09/06/2018 21:45

I have never in my life met anyone with this. Only me :(

cessie322 · 09/06/2018 21:45

I had 3 laser sessions for mine with a dermatologist last year. He said he'd do his best with them as they are so hard to get rid of. The sessions were a good 5 or 6 weeks apart and they took a long time to heal up. I was bruised for quite a while but it looked more like dark circles iykwim. My last session was in September and I feel they have improved a lot. A few of the bigger annoying ones are gone and a lot of the others have flattened. They haven't gone entirely and they will come back, I haven't felt the need to go back to him yet so I do feel it's worked. I absolutely hated mine as well op, they were all I could see in the mirror. Mine were all below my eye and some of them were too close to the eye itself to go near but once the large ones were gone they didn't seem as noticeable.

As an aside Ive been using Retin A since last Sept. so maybe that's why they haven't really reappeared.

This is a picture taken a while back. The red mark is caused by my glasses. I think mine might actually xanthelasma rather than syringinoma as they are not circular but a strange shape.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/06/2018 21:50

I really do not know what they are tbh.

cessie322 · 09/06/2018 21:57

Some of mine were that shape although maybe a little smaller. They were syringinoma. I went to my GP who referred me to the dermatologist and he diagnosed them. I thought they were milia for a long time.

Could you go to a dermatologist?

MeToo1234 · 09/06/2018 22:00

Xathalasma tend to be a creamy white/yellow colour I think so I think yours are syringoma.

cessie thanks for replying. That’s interesting to hear. I too would be happier if just the bigger ones were gone so perhaps I should look into laser treatment for those. Could I ask what sort of cost it was to have the treatment?

MeToo1234 · 09/06/2018 22:03

never apparently it’s quite common but I’ve never noticed them on anyone ense either. I have loads more than you, on my eyelids (which bother me less as I dont see them with my eyes open, below my eyes and some just below my brow line.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/06/2018 22:04

When I went to my GP they just looked at me as if I was an idiot! It really buts me. I would definitely go to a dermatologists. Also interested in price.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/06/2018 22:06

*It really bugs me that should have said.
Thanks Metoo. I have never seen them on anyone. I'm glad I have finally found someone that shares the same issue!

cessie322 · 09/06/2018 22:16

I'm actually in Dublin so I'd say it's different pricewise. Mine was covered by my health insurance so I'd to pay for the initial dermatologist consultation which was about €150 (I was able to claim some back) then the laser sessions didn't cost me anything which I was delighted about.

That's so poor with your GP neveradullmoment99. Could you ring and say that you want a referral to a dermatologist? I'm not sure how it works in the UK so don't know if that would be possible for you?

cessie322 · 09/06/2018 22:24

Not a great pic as I've zoomed in (I didn't want to post my face!). This was straight after the first session and the red marks are the equivalent size to the big ones. My eye puffed out a lot afterwards and was quite bruised but I did it the day before I went on holidays so hid behind sunglasses and didn't wear makeup to let it heal. He only did one eye initially and was quite restrained, the next two sessions he did both eyes and did a lot more so I was quite bruised afterwards and that's what took a good while to settle.

This is my first time posting a pic so I hope it works!

Thanks cessie, that’s really helpful. I guess it’s worth it to have them gone!
Never, it’s not something I’d highlight in real life either but MN seems to have wealth of knowledge so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

OP posts:
cessie322 · 09/06/2018 22:42

No problem Metoo1234. It was worth it and maybe the Retin A is keeping them at bay and I won't have to go back. The only other person I've ever noticed them on is my dad, I blame him Smile
