Invisalign/Inman aligners

Has anyone had invisible braces? Could you share your experience? Considering having them fitted but realise it takes commitment, and that you need to keep them in for 22 hours a day. Also, will they correct a overbite? Or would I need fixed braces for correction of a overbite.
I need to book a consultation, if anyone has a recommended orthodontist in NE London or Essex I would be grateful.

I had an Inman aligner

It’s much bigger than other options so it dramatically affects your speech for a few weeks. It’s hard to close your lips over it. It was otherwise comfortable and works well. My understanding is than the Inman aligner will only work on your front teeth (4-6 I think). It can’t do anything beyond straighten those teeth. It’s not as invisible as other options as it is quite chunky. Something like the 6 month smile is less conspicuous and can work on more teeth

Ive got Invisalign and am struggling with it. I have such a small mouth and it really affects my speech. Also I find them difficult to sleep in so my sleep pattern has been badly affected. The having to take them in and out and clean them whenever you eat is also a massive pain when you are out and about. When I looked online for tips, all I found were jokes about “the Invisalign diet” Angry.

I’m really not impressed so far but am prepared to accept that any kind of brace is a commitment and hoping the results will be worth it. Hmm

I used invisalign eight years ago. It took me about six weeks to get used to wearing them, I had really bad chapped lips, lost weight and had slightly disturbed sleep. After that it was just normal and didn't cause a problem.
The results are fantastic, I still catch sight of my smile or see myself in photos and grin at how much better my teeth look.
I smile far more than I ever used to, which means other people perceive me as friendly and confident, I also think it has knocked a couple of years off my appearance, partly because I use the bleaching gel to keep them looking white.

I would say go for invisalign and commit to sticking with it!

Find a good dentist, I still get a free check up every six months to monitor my teeth. My dentist carries out more invisalign than anyone else in the country so is an expert and passes on savings to patients ( but he's not in your area, sorry)

I would say go for a consultation. From personal experience I would recommend Pure Orthodontics but Chelmsford may be a bit too far into Essex for you

I had them for 18 months. I had no issues - bit weird at first but quickly got used to them. Bit embarassing taking them out at restaurants but you get over it. I have lovely teeth now and will still need to sleep with a retainer for ever but its just normal to me now.

I had the Inman aligner. Found it painful to wear for the first few weeks and it did effect my speech, though I kept focusing on the end result! It worked very fast, 5 months for me and the results were impressive. Certainly worth it for me

I had an Inman. Wore it as much as I could but couldn’t wear it at work but it still only took 10 weeks to sort my front four teeth. Seriously, the best money I have ever, ever spent on myself.

I've got Invisalign. I'm about halfway through (aligner 19 of 33) and I'm absolutely delighted with results already. I've found each aligner painful for the first couple of days, then fine. I don't have an overbite (just very crowded, twisted, snaggly teeth!) but it can correct most things is my understanding. It does need commitment, but you see changes really quite quickly and that's immensely motivating.

I'm on aligner 21 of 38. I don't have any attachments which is great. I'm used to them now and the results are great already. Definitely recommend.

Thanks to everyone. I have booked a consultation with pure orthodontic in Chelmsford, it's a 40 minute drive from me but I have gone with the recommended. I will also try a more local clinic for a second opinion. I am not looking forward to no snacking, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end. Interesting to hear how lng it wil take and if the overbite can be improved.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed with them. They're a 30 minute drive from me too. Good luck
