Morocan oil for hair

chatterbox54 · 08/06/2018 00:03

Is Morocan oil good or bad? The salon I go to uses it and makes my hair look good. They also sell it but it is quite expensive at £30 so I don't buy it. I do use some cheaper Argan oil but it does not produce the same results (either that or it is because I am not a professional stylist). So is Morocan oil sold at salons for £30 really better or is it just the same but under a brand name so you end up paying for the name and not the oil?

What does it do? Do you wash it off again?

Mmmmmmmchips · 08/06/2018 00:18

It’s actually just a serum with silicones and a bit of argan oil added in.

"Moroccan" hair oil is just Argan oil but with other ingredients, mostly that water down the effects of the real stuff. It's just branding because Morocco sounds more relatable to people that Argan (the name of the oil that comes from Morocco!)

I use Natural World Argan Oil of Morocco, it's amazing. 10p piece size through your hair whilst wet, hair blow dries straight, smooth and silky. It's really noticeable and it feel like you've had an intense conditioner through it. I don't touch my hair without it!

Also you can put a very small amount on hand to smooth down hair when dry if you need that. Night and day difference. I've managed to keep long very blonde coloured hair in silky condition with it. I stopped when I ran out and it took over a year to grow my hair back to the condition I had kept it in with the organ oil, breakage, frizz, all sorts of crazy! So now I use it always, I hadn't realised quite what a difference it makes. I have had hairdressers ask me for years how I managed to keep hair coloured like mine so long and in such good condition. All about the organ oil. I tried other brands but they didn't have the same effect.

It's about £6 on amazon, I pay crazy amounts for beauty products so I didn't choose by cost, it's the best.

I really recommend this one.

I love it and it's the only serum that I find actually works well. I buy the £13 small bottle and that lasts me 6 months. You only need the tiniest amount.

100% Argan oil is amazing, without anything else added. Most of the products you buy in a pharmacy are Argan oil mixed with other things. It has to be stored in a coloured glass bottle, so if it's in a plastic or clear bottle it's fake.

Ellapaella · 08/06/2018 23:19

@RainySeptember where can I buy that from
please? Sounds good.

I bought my first bottle in Morocco but now buy it from various places online, because it really was so much better than any of the blended products I'd tried previously. I'm not loyal so buy it anywhere that has an offer on, just search for pure or 100% Argan oil. You can often find it on Amazon, about £10 for 100ml.

I use it as a hair mask at night a couple of times a week, leave it in overnight (with head on a towel!) and wash it out in the morning, have never found anything to beat it.

If you use it before blow drying, or after to smooth, you really only need a drop.

I bought a bottle of Moroccon oil so will try it to see the results

ok I washed my hair and blow dried it with the Moroccan oil and I was absolutely stunned. My hair feels like satin and it has lost its thick bush fly away look. I only ever feel like this when coming out of the salon. I will now never use anything else. Moroccan oil is superb. My bottle cost £30 and the price put me off so I bought cheaper stuff from the supermarket but my mother always said to me "you get what you pay for" and looking how good it has made my hair look, i think it is worth spending the money

Yes - use it too. Once got a cheaper alternative but was rubbish. Definitely worth the price. I get the small bottle £13 and lasts me ages

Aridane · 09/06/2018 20:12

Just looked at Moroccan Oil on Amazon.

Ingredients are listed as

Oleic Acid, Linoleic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Linolenic Acid

So,is,argan oil,actually an ingredient?

donaldtwerp · 09/06/2018 20:46

Not sure why but only thing that works for me and I've tried the lot

Ellapaella · 09/06/2018 20:55

Yes it's brilliant. I love the smell too. I bought a £13 bottle last August and it's only just run out.

chatterbox54 · 09/06/2018 20:56

A friend of mine has shiny silky hair and says she puts no products on it and that it is naturally like that. I think she is telling porkies. Nobody can have silky glossy hair without putting something on it to make it such
