Double chin

Kittykat93 · 07/06/2018 22:00

So I'm 25 years old, not overweight (although definitely not skinny). And I have a double chin. Probably worth adding I have quite a weak looking jawline which doesn't help.

Is there anything I can do apart from surgery to get rid of it? I don't find that losing weight helps. I'm getting married in a few months and would love to not look at the photos and feel embarrassed of my side profile!

Thank you!!!!

Losing a little weight may reduce it, unfortunately. I think you can get these weird neck exerciser things but I doubt they work. I would contour- or shade with bronzer? Is that possible ?

Petitepamplemousse · 07/06/2018 22:03

Sorry you said losing weight doesn’t help, I missed that.

Kittykat93 · 07/06/2018 22:05

Haven't even considered contouring, I have no idea how to do that but suppose I could try YouTube or google Grin to be honest I'm hoping to lose around half a stone for the wedding but I doubt it will solve this chin problem. I've seriously considered liposuction but can't justify the money and can't really afford it! Sad

The gatineau neck and throat gel is amazing stuff. It will tighten up your chin in a month or less.
Don't ever sit with your head bent forward towzrxs your chest, for example when using a pc, tablet or phone, or reading a book.

amymel2016 · 07/06/2018 22:07

Quick fix for photos - push your tongue up on the roof of your mouth, it immediately tightens the whole area! No long term solutions I’m afraid, contouring sounds like a good option

Littlejayx · 07/06/2018 22:08

I have this!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

I have no jaw line but have lost 4 stone and still have a double chin. I spend my lifeliftong my jaw in pictures

Kittykat93 · 07/06/2018 22:09

Jones I literally read your comment with my head bent down chin touching my chest Blush I use my phone too much that's the problem. Thanks for the suggestions both!

Little that's what mine looks like !!! I'm so self conscious of it it's all I see when I look at a photo of myself. I wouldn't notice it in someone else but in myself it just takes over everything else 😫 I just have no bloody jaw. Maybe filler injections would help? I don't even know anymore!

OP posts:
Littlejayx · 07/06/2018 22:16

It’s all in the genes unfortunately 😩. You can get fillers but it apparently falls back to make the skin all crapey.

I just make fun of myself now.

Better having a friend with two chins than two faces 🙌🏻

Peanutbuttercups21 · 07/06/2018 22:20

I see nothing wrong with that photo, little Confused

It is one of those imagined failings we torment ourselves with, nobody looks just at your neck (apart from you), people look at you like a whole person iyswin

Trick for photos, make sure you get a tall photographer, looking up slightly in pictures is the most flattering for chins&jaws

That was why the selfie stick was invented, to get that looking-up effect Grin

Kittykat93 · 07/06/2018 22:20

Oh god didn't know about it affecting the skin. I certainly don't want to look worse in the long run!

My nose is a bit on the larger size aswell so it probably doesn't help my side profile.

Definitely true Smile

You can have a chin implant under a local anesthetic for £5000.

Kittykat93 · 07/06/2018 22:39

I have looked at the chin implant option but I just don't think I can justify spending 5 grand on my appearance. I have a son so that money should be going on him! Maybe if I win the lottery though ....Smile

Can you afford to save £25 a week so you could put that £100 a month away and do it in 4 years?

BigbreastsBiggerbeard · 07/06/2018 23:36

Littlejayx - lovely skin!

bingohandjob · 08/06/2018 00:45

I bet you look fab. For photos, and I appreciate you mention side view, but I've started the 'forward and slightly down' pose and God it makes a difference. You feel odd doing it but you are posing for a photo - I know very few people who like having their photo taken, but since doing this I've actually got photos of myself I like! A photographer friend told me to do it - practise with setting up self timer on your camera (not selfies, prop your camera up somewhere) and get to know what pose shows off what I'm sure is a bloody lovely face in photos. I think if you're beaming on your wedding day, that'll be the best tip to looking fab in your photos too! photofocus.com/2015/09/29/portrait-posing-tip-forward-and-down/

CarpetDiem · 08/06/2018 01:38

Have you heard about the injection you can get that dissolves the double chin fat? I saw something on line, let me check if I can find a link

CarpetDiem · 08/06/2018 01:40

It doesn't say how much it costs- this is in manchester www.skinviva.com/treatments/belkyra/

Littlejayx · 08/06/2018 08:13

Aw thank you ☺️

hugitout10 · 08/06/2018 08:16

seen a lot of adverts for kybella being the new amazing thing for double chins. the pictures look v impressive.

Kittykat93 · 08/06/2018 10:20

Thank you all!!!! Definitely going to look into some of these options and also practicing my posing Grin

Be careful what you wish for. I have a ‘strong chin’ (Jimmy Hill). Trying not to look like Bruce Forsyth in photos is my challenge. I’d like a softer jawline!
