Product "crumbs" on face - anyone else have this problem?

I've added a few new products to my routine recently on account of having read more about ageing skin. Tretinoin in particular (which has really helped my acne - a result I wasn't expecting as it was the anti-ageing benefits I chose it for) and a high factor sunscrean. I also try to reapply the sunscrean several times a day.

Problem is I get these product "crumbs" all over my face now even though I don't feel I'm using more than I've been told to use and they look gross! Even when i've given one product some time to be absorbed.

Anyone else ever have this problem and did you solve it?

And is there a way to check you've applied enough sunscrean and applied it everywhere without gaps? I remember going to a night club in Belgium once when I was a teenager and half of the girls faces were glowing luminous purple! The boys were all saying it must be makeup but some of us weren't wearing makeup and were still glowing and after a lot of thinking it hit me that it was possibly sunscrean. I had a consultation with a skin person another time and she put me under special lights and my skin was purple again but when I ran a wet wipe over my face and went under the lights again my skin was normal. Can I buy a light that will show me where I've missed a bit and where I don't need to reapply?

Just found these - uv cameras - to check your sunscreen is everywhere.

How does putting makeup on on top affect them though? Does anyone have anything like this?

Those lights are uv rays so I wouldn't shine them on my face.

If a products pilling there's too much of it on your face. I don't re-apply sunblock several times a day, are you in a hot country?

I was told by a make up counter lady to make sure all moisturiser etc was really well rubbed in as it can leave a film which can roll when you then apply other products on top.

The "pilling" is caused by silicone-heavy products I think.

Lots of serums have masses of -cones in, it's what they use to smooth skin and blur lines.

It helps if you pat product onto your skin rather than rub it, or obvs avoid silicone heavy stuff. I love Neal's Yard frankincense cream for example- the ordinary one that's been out for donkeys' years is fine, but the "intense" just leaves globs all over my face. Won't be repurchasing it but sticking to the old version.

I use spf 50 (currently frezyderm but have used Biore watery essence) and don't reapply as make up goes on top and then that's me done for the day. Am in southern Italy.
