I want this colour hair.

But my hair is currently dyed a mid-dark brown. This is very close to my natural colour. I can't wait for the dark brown to grow out & I really don't want to go down the bleach route. I have tried Colour B4 in the past & my hair re-oxidises & goes dark again after a couple of days.

I wonder if there's another way I can achieve this colour, but I'm guessing my hair will have to be lifted with bleach somehow. I can't really afford to go to a hairdressers anyway. I doubt very much a box dye would lighten it? What would happen if I put on a really light blonde box colour, would that lift some of the darkness out? Any ideas?

I want this colour hair.

Are you rinsing the colour b4 out for long enough? At least 30 mins. You shouldn't be able to smell any of the eggy smell at all after a through rinsing.
I have short fine hair and it takes me 40mins to get the smell to go.

Also are you waiting at least a few days before putting colour on again as that can cause reoxidisation?

A direct dye. Which is usually plant based deposit only colour has no chemicals which would react with colour b4. If you can lift the current dye out to a gingery base you could apply one of these.
Adore do a good range of natural reddy browns. These do not contain bleach or developer so wont damage your hair and fade out.

The colour you want is still quite dark. I have dark brown hair and I get pretty much exactly this colour using lush henna rouge.

I think you're not supposed to use henna on top of hair dye, but I've done it once the dye has faded a bit.

Yes when I've used colour B4 I've rinsed for about 20 mins, seems like a lifetime! & have left it about 4 weeks before apply a colour.

I did a Vitamin c shampoo mix thingy on my hair last night with has lifted some of the colour, so there's a slight difference & my hair looks lighter & warmer. I think for the time being I'll just continue to use head & shoulders shampoo to try & fade the colour from my hair as much as I can & perhaps try a light auburn dye on it in a few weeks or so.

I had exactly the same problem. I used the John Freida go blonder highlighting spray which lifted my hair perfectly. It dried my hair out a little but only took about 2 weeks to gradually lighten Smile love the result

(Obviously that method may not work for all dark brown box dye but it worked for me)
