Eyeliner with a brush not these damn felt tip things.

I cannot get along with these felty eyeliners they are thin, watery and slide off my eyes. In desperation I tried the Estee Lauder counter explaining my problem she sold me what she said was a brush eyeliner. Worked on my hand great. Trouble is when I looked closely it is another felt one. Where can I get proper brush ones that paint on and stay put for the duration.

100% Bobbi Brown. They have travel set on sae the at the moment if you just want to try it. After trying Bobbi Brown, you will struggle to find anything better.

clairethewitch70 · 03/06/2018 21:17

Boots No7 & Lush do awesome liquid eyeliners with a brush.

eurochick · 03/06/2018 21:22

Bobbi brown gel eyeliner is good.

The eyeko liner is a pen but amazing. Not at all watery and has amazing staying power. I have tried loads and was loyal to Bobbi Brown for years but I think the eyeko one is better.

buckeejit · 03/06/2018 23:40

I have the Bobbi brown gel liner & the Mac one in the past. They're ok but what I really want is liquid eyeliner like I had as a teen, however I don't want black, I want brown, or brown black. I don't think this exists anymore!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 04/06/2018 06:11

@buckeejit the rimmel one is liquid and comes in brown/black

OneInAMillionYou · 04/06/2018 10:07

Stila do a brown liner, but it is a felt tip.

I get on fine with it, and prefer brown for daytime.

SleepFreeZone · 05/06/2018 14:06

I went out today and bought the Rimmel one and the Maybelline gel one with brush. I shall report back when ive tried them out.

DerelictWreck · 05/06/2018 14:12

The maybelline gel one is great, but the brush only lasts a few weeks/months of use so you'll need to get a good one separately

Greenteandchives · 05/06/2018 14:19

I want an eye liner that comes as a solid block in a palette that you have to wet, then paint on with a brush. Like children’s paint.
I am pretty sure these don’t exist any more. I have given up looking.
The liquid and gel ones just aren’t the same.Sad

snowgirl1 · 05/06/2018 14:25

@Greenteaanchives have a look at the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner - although it's called a gel eyeliner it's solid and I wet the brush before applying it.

BitOutOfPractice · 05/06/2018 14:26

Yes to Rimmel. The brown is also nice for a more subtle daytime look. Very fine brush and it stays and stays

MikeUniformMike · 05/06/2018 14:27

Rimmel scandaleyes little pot and separate brush is ok. I use the felt tip ones of various makes. I got a Rodial one free with a magazine and it was not very good - pen wore out after a few days and the colour didn't last. Proper eye pencil is better than a crap felt tip.

Thanks snowgirl I will have a look.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/06/2018 20:24

E.L.F does a brown gel (but the brush is too chunky)

I got a cheapie double ended brush from Primark, does an ok job but I think I'll splash out on a thinner one (I'm looking at the MASQD eye set , need to check it IRL)

welshmist · 05/06/2018 20:26

I shall go hunting tomorrow, lots of ideas here. Peggy Sage have a shop and say they have brush liners. I also cannot use pencil, just slides off within an hour.

Guerlain liquid eyeliner is fabulous and comes in a huge bottle with a lovely fine brush so good value for money IMO, doesn’t flake or budge.
I also like Bobby Brown gel but it does dry out in the container after a few months and it’s about the same cost as Guerlain when you factor in the cost of the brush on top.
High street dupes like Rimmel, etc are poor substitutes and I’ve tried a few but in the end I think higher end are better...
Not liquid eyeliner but I recently discovered Guerlain’s kohl powder, proper Eastern kohl style container with applicator and I’m in love!

spugzbunny · 05/06/2018 21:06

I used the Rimmel one for years. I've moved on to the NYX one now that looks like a pen it is a brush. They do wet finish (vinyl I think it's called) and a matt.

SleepFreeZone · 06/06/2018 09:35

So I use the Rimmel today Glam’eyes Professional Liquid Liner. Really really like the brush, very precise. Like the Matt finish. Now just to see if it has enough longevity.

Botanicbaby · 06/06/2018 14:26

I thought I hated the felt liner type ones too until I tried Kat Von D which is fabulous for me.

If you're not willing to risk it I'd recommend a pot of gel eyeliner and a separate brush to apply it. Bobbi Brown is v.good.

FredSheeran · 06/06/2018 14:59

Eyeko do the best felt tip pen liners, hands down, and I've tried a lot.

BUT for tightlining, I always come back to Laura Mercier cake liner and her flat liner brush. Subtle, foolproof, long lasting. Utterly brilliant and worth the money.
