Curly girl experts- Ok to use this as a leave in?

I have used this a a co wash but they seemed to have trimmed down the ingredients even more. Wondering if it would be now be ok to leave in?

I currently use Cantu Creamy Conditioning lotion diluted on DD and Yes To Carrots as a rinse out. The Cantu detangles brilliantly but can make her hair greasy.

Forgot to say say it's Inecto Coconut Conditioner.

I'd maybe use it as a wash but would look for something with fewer alcohols in as a leave in personally

Megabeth · 03/06/2018 17:02

Ah Ok, I bought it because I need to do a thorough check for nits but will rinse off afterwards then.

Oh god

Nits + curly hair

BEEN THERE, i don’t envy you that one, good luck ☹️

MissVanjie · 03/06/2018 17:12

... other cheap and cheerful CG conditioners for times such as this are the superdrug extracts ones (i use these all the time not just when it’s nitageddon), there’s a Tesco own brand pro v one that i’ve not personally used but is being highly praised on the other recent CG thread on here, and poundland stock a brand called nutrafix that has CG friendly ingredients, i have the almond oil one of these and it’s fine, not life changing or anything, but fine.

BumbleBea8 · 03/06/2018 17:13

I use this as a co-wash and as a leave-in, and I've had no problems. While there might be better alternatives I'm happy to keep using it (as it's so cheap) .

@MissVanjie, thankfully DD's hair isn't curly, my other DCs have curly hair and I'm mixed race so we use CG and (natural if possible) products.

My eldest DD never had nits thank goodness, she has a huge mane of 3c hair. It would have took a whole day to go through with a bit comb!

@Megabeth here you go www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/3262645-Curly-girl-What-works?msgid=78364873#78364873

Still shuddering at memories of nitcombing 😭 my ds has poker straight hair but absolute TONS of it, really thick and he is really mardy about having it messed with - i once tried putting some neem oil on a particularly tenacious infestation, and he was crying and dryheaving because of the smell, he is DRAMATIC. He has a buzzcut now Grin Then i have curly dd, who thankfully has short hair atm. Then there’s me, only 2b/2c hair but it’s normally somewhere between my bra strap and my waist. Nits are a full on mission. They should be banned. Forever.

@MissVanjie
Thanks for the link. Last time DD had nits it took a couple of months to be rid of them. I read on here to dilute Lavender essential oil in a spray bottle and it seemed to work. DD gets a flakey scalp and someone suggested the Lavender oil might be irritating her. I stopped using it, her scalp is no better and the nits came back Angry
