Let’s talk Hourglass....!

I’ve just purchased my first Hourglass product, the Ambient powder compact in Dim light & I’m so happy with it. What are your favourite Hourglass products? Think I could get addicted Smile

The Bronzer! I’m dark skinned, and have the darkest shade but it gives the most beautiful warm glow to my face without looking glittery. Love it (and think it will last forever!). Liquid lipstick in Icon is absolutely gorgeous too...

Sparkletastic · 31/05/2018 21:05

I really want the powder. Is it an all over powder or a highlighter. Would it suit oily skins?

trigger2 · 31/05/2018 21:05

I have the powders in Dim and Diffused light and I absolutely love them ! They were a complete splurge for me and when they finish I will certainly be asking for more (birthday, Christmas)

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/05/2018 21:06

Bugger. Thought this would be about the struggle to find clothes to house a giant arse.

The make up sounds good though!

Branleuse · 31/05/2018 21:14

also disappointed its not about dressing hourglass figures

butterry · 31/05/2018 21:16

I really love the stick foundation, not heavy, great coverage and makes face look flawless!

Bestbe · 31/05/2018 21:22

I second the foundation stick. Also the concealer and primer. The products last for ages, which is just as well because they are £££££

Fullfatlatte · 31/05/2018 21:45

Sparkle google the powder for more info. It has reduced my shine slightly but it’s not designed to be like a matte powder which I prefer given my age (47!). It has made my skin look flawless & glowing so happy days! The consultant applied it all over for me & because I said I didn’t want a really shimmery one she suggested Dim light for me (especially as I’ll be getting a tan soon due to holiday).

Buttery & Bestbe. I’ll def look into the foundation stick once I’ve finished the Bobbi Brown one (which is amazing btw).

The BB illuminating powder was £42, I purchased it in November & it’s only just run out (used it daily) £40 for the Hourglass is a good investment if it lasts just as long.

Has anyone tried the Illusion skin tint?

OP posts:
mrsdane · 31/05/2018 21:47

Yes Illusion Skin tint is MEGA, I prefer it in the summer over the stick foundation (which I also love). I've got the Veil Retouching Fluid too which is nice, as is the new powder they just brought out.

I have the six pan palette they typically release every Christmas too which has two all over powders, two blushers, a bronzer and a highlighter - good value. I really like their face products, not been blown away by lip/eye products though.

Judydreamsofhorses · 31/05/2018 21:49

I live Diffused Light, and also the blushers, plus Raven liquid lipstick.

Fullfatlatte · 31/05/2018 21:52

MrsDane Thank you 😀 now to wait until Christmas! Does anyone know if you can buy Hourglass products at Gatwick duty free??

OP posts:
mrsdane · 31/05/2018 21:56

Fullfat I didn't see a counter in there the other week I'm afraid. There's often 10% off at John Lewis, or if you're flying to the US it's cheaper there?

MrsMaisel · 31/05/2018 22:33

All the powders are amazing. Dim light was my first too. I recently bought the retractable brush and I love it. I want the gold cigarette holder style lipstick, but I feel it's a bit sexy for me... I would end up only applying it at the bathroom mirror, and then what's the point.

eagleflies · 31/05/2018 22:44

I have just bought the foundation stick and wore it for the first time today. I have quite oily skin and was a bit disappointed that my
nose was shiny by lunchtime especially when I've been using a cheap Rimmel product that stayed on with no shine. The hourglass does have better coverage over my melasma and rosacea though. Do I just need to set with more powder do you think?

Sparkletastic · 01/06/2018 08:01

Eagle or try a mattifying lotion on nose underneath it perhaps. I was slightly gutted in my expensive but chalky La Roche Posay spf until I realised it worked wonders as a mattifying lotion.

Naicethings · 01/06/2018 08:15

I have hit pan on my Hourglass Diffused light, so will be re-purchasing, though not sure if I should go for the Diffused again, or try Dim. Does the Dim deposit a bit of colour? I am fair, with neutral tones.

KirstenRaymonde · 01/06/2018 08:18

The triple palette of the ambient lighting powders is my saviour. All the colours together washed all over the face and you will look bright, healthy and well slept even if you’re none of those things.

thedevilinablackdress · 01/06/2018 13:49

Only powder I've ever finished - every last scrap. And then went and got a new one. Try not to shell out much on expensive makeup these days but some things are worth it.
Fairly ethical brand too.

krisskross · 01/06/2018 23:45

Does anyone know if any of the hourglass counters in London do makeovers...the kind you pay a bit for and then redeem against a purchase?
Thanks

LadyOfTheCanyon · 02/06/2018 05:04

I love the sunset palette they do - bronzer, blush and highlighter. I use it all year round and am on my third one. The bronzer has a good whack of grey in it so looks natural. The blush is a soft coral and the highlighter is a gleam rather than glitter sort.
I also use Radiant light powder which works on my NC25/30 skin. I found Dim light too ghostly for my colouring.

I've tried a couple of their lipsticks too but find them a bit meh. They do skin stuff better IMO.

UndomesticHousewife · 02/06/2018 06:50

I love Dim Light, it makes me look a bit bronzed but it has an amazing blurring effect which makes me look half decent.
I bought a lighter one too, can't remember what it's called maybe Radiant Light?, but it didn't give the same effect so I gave it to my daughter.

Holidayshopping · 05/09/2018 11:09

I know this is an older thread but it came up in a search! I keep seeing the Hourglass ambient dim powder recommended but what exactly is it? Is it a highlighter, bronzer or an all over powder?

I am 40 with freckles, a bit of an uneven complexion but tend to be a bit shiny-will it help with that or is it sparkly and will make me shinier?!

MenaMecca · 05/09/2018 12:19

Ethereal and Diffused Light :)

Holidayshopping · 05/09/2018 12:49

Is that good-what does it do?

rudehealth · 05/09/2018 12:51

I have heard the extreme caution mascara is meant to be the best mascara on the planet
