To whomever recommended me an Epistick....

Thank you!! I developed blonde but coarse chin hair in my early 30's and shaved/imacced it for a year without much success (stubble is not sexy). With no money to laser or the like I thought I was screwed. I saw an epistick recommended on here, it was cheap so I bought it. Holy hell, a quick whip round with that bad boy every week or so and I'm smooth as!! Cheers me deers 🦌

Fab aren't they. Wouldn't be without mine now.

Nix32 · 30/05/2018 21:38

Is it a threading tool? Does it hurt?

nickEcave · 31/05/2018 16:03

I still need to pluck the individual coarse dark hairs but epistick is great for dealing with general fuzziness.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 31/05/2018 16:06

I need to know everything about this. Brand? Thanks!

twolittleboysonetiredmum · 31/05/2018 16:07

Would it do general facial fuzz near ears etc too? Very intrigued

LadyKyliePonsonbyFarquhar · 31/05/2018 17:12

I want one of these. Can you buy them in any stores or only online?

MyHairNeedsASnip · 31/05/2018 19:29

I ordered one for my 'tache off amazon last night off the back of this thread. Just had a go and fuuuuuuuck that hurt. I usually wax it off, or pluck it out but that was a different level of ouch. I'm going to have another go tomorrow because the waxing has given me a red mark that won't go away and the plucking takes forever.

BigFatBloomers · 31/05/2018 20:31

MyHair try to get the skin as taught as possible. Involves making extraordinary faces and sticking your tongue over your teeth. I think I originally watched a few videos for tips.

SantaClauseMightWork · 31/05/2018 20:33

Can you do eyebrows with it?

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 31/05/2018 20:39

Which brand did you buy? I would be willing to take a cheap punt on something but if it hurts like hell im out so don’t want to spend a fortune.

BigFatBloomers · 31/05/2018 23:45

In theory you can do eyebrows but I’ve not tried.

I think mine was an Epistick. They’re only about £2 on Amazon or eBay.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 01/06/2018 03:05

Steam and/or cream before or after? Do you get pustules? nEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING!
oops sorry caps lock
pretty please, thank you Blush

Battleax · 01/06/2018 03:23

Jesus H Christ. It’s a SPRING! Like a door stopper type spring! Are you all actually bonkers? (At first I thought you used the pink rubber bits to somehow “erase” the hair, but no, it’s like manual, slow-mo silkepil 😩)

MrsWhirly · 01/06/2018 03:28

This is an implement of torture!

mammmamia · 01/06/2018 04:34

Honestly it works so well even though you’d never think it from looking at it.
I would also like to thank the person on MN who recommeded it!

stoplickingthetelly · 01/06/2018 07:08

It does hurt at first, but the more you do it the easier it gets.

Grandadwasthatyou · 01/06/2018 10:49

I sit in front of the tv every night pinging away. Oh the satisfaction when you actually hear the hair being pulled out.
I bought one for my dsis but she couldn't get away with it. I, however, am addicted.

mammmamia · 01/06/2018 12:31

Same! I bought one for my sister as well and she can’t grt the hang of it!

UpperWallop · 01/06/2018 15:52

It's sooooo painful and always gives me an itchy rash, so I don't bother!

hollieberrie · 01/06/2018 15:58

I have one but just cant get the hang of how to do it.... Confused

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 01/06/2018 16:31

I do worry about rash, super sensitive skin.

PicklingGherkins · 02/06/2018 15:17

Sorry for not replying sooner. I wasn't expecting such a response. This is the one I have (currently 45p on Amazon). It does hurt a bit, I won't lie (especially on my handlebar moustache). My tip is to do it straight after a hot steamy bath/shower, make sure you've knocked back some form of alcohol (nice glass of wine in the bath - perfect) then go for it. Little and often works best for me and isn't too traumatic. I don't put any cream on it for a short while after but can say I've never experienced redness beyond the first couple of minutes. I'm not sure about eyebrows as I don't do mine but it works on all of my face hair. It only takes me a few minutes now I have the knack (YouTube helps here). https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004LNXA0Y/ref=cmswwrsmsscapiiiMuQeBbSQCR1N5

I've got one of these but can't get the hang of how to use it!

ChishandFips33 · 02/06/2018 17:09

I've had a few of these and think they're great BUT they go rusty very quickly even though not in contact with water - anyone else's do thiS?

They're only £1 so cheap to replace but seems wasteful (landfill)

PicklingGherkins · 02/06/2018 17:15

Get on YouTube and take a look at a couple of videos, I bend mine into a downwards U shape and sort of twist the ends whilst moving it around.

As for the rust, mine is okay so far but I do keep it in my bedroom rather than the bathroom if that makes a difference.
