A fake tan for skin so pale I'm more grey than white?!

Ok so I'm determined to get my legs out this summer but they are so pale I look almost dead. Face and arms ok as they get more exposure. but my legs are zombie-like. I tried some fake tans many years ago, always trying the lightest versions, but always went orange and streaky. Can anyone recommend something to take my legs from dead to 'has been outside and probably sat in the shade' which is all I aspire to? I'm a brunette who was a ginger baby, blue eyes, many freckles, never tanned naturally. Would appreciate any advice as I expect the available products have moved on a bit since I last tried.

I use the St Tropez light one that you use in the shower, it's good, never streaks and just takes the edge off my pasty pins.

St Tropez here too. Either the gradual or the usual- the light one really is v natural. Am day glo white but it’s ok for me.

St tropez thirded here

I use it weekly and on the day I re-fake tan, use a fake tan remover, then the st moritz tan exfoliator, then st tropez mousse

I get loads of compliments about my tan and think it looks really natural

I am currently using the dove dermaspa range - it is on offer at boots - I bought a good exfoliator and a tanning mitt - it is one of those moisturisers with fake tan in - it is going on lovely & I am just putting it on a couple of times a week so that when we go away I do have a slight tinge rather than the pasty white look

Oooh excellent, thank you all. Thanks for the recommendations. I knew MN would come to the rescue!

Bondi sands gradual tan is also excellent - the one in the pink bottle.
I would also recommend palmers cocoa butter gradual tanner - cheap and brilliant.

Cocoa brown is great for pale skin, I'm trying the bondi sands gradual tan at the minute - it was on offer in tkmaxx and I impulse bought it and it seems good too, but would probably need a few days build up.

I tried Bondi Sands gradual tan foam this week, lovely, one application has given my white/blue skin a nice colour, I will be buying it again

Thank you again. I will venture out to Boots tomorrow!

Another one for Bondi Sands pink gradual tanning mousse (Superdrug).

I think the key for you is definitely gradual tanner every couple of days rather than the instant full on tanning stuff.

PALMER'S COCOA BUTTER FORMULA WITH VITAMIN E - Natural Bronze Body Lotion.

I am a long time user of the 'fake tan' lotion and this one discovered a couple of years ago is by far the best I have ever used. I'm fair skinned and both my grown up kids are blonde - and we all use it. I buy it in bulk! Straight after the bath or shower - I just use it like a normal body lotion. I even use it on my face.

Aside from the fact it gives you a lovely natural glow, it is also a fantastic moisturiser.

I second palmers. Smells great too.

For a stronger colour I use l’oreal Sublime tinted or cocoa brown. They leave a lovely colour. They aren’t even very expensive. I’ve used several vita liberata ones before which cost a small fortune and left me looking orange.

(It isn’t tan but thought I would also add that I love palmers coconut oil body lotion. It is one of the best I’ve used and smells absolutely delicious.)

Bondi Sands gradual tanner. I am super pale and it’s the only one I’ve never had an issue with (tried many brands!)

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/06/2018 07:55

If it goes orange the dha is too high and you need something lighter in concentration.

Scabetty · 02/06/2018 12:06

I am trying Skinny Tan and will change back to St Tripez if too dark.

I prefer the drops you put in your own moisturiser. Then you don't go round smelling like biscuits Grin
