Ive been for some foundation samples today, i always thought my skin was combination but the lady at the counter said its more oily! Maybe its dehydrated too, as it sometimes feels tight?
Anyway she mentioned a setting powder can anyone recommend a good one?

Urban Decay De-slick setting spray, then when it's dried No 7 powder.

OnebusyMum · 27/05/2018 17:36

It was actually at an urban decay counter!

RCMA powder. Sets make up beautifully with a damp beauty sponge, but does not dry my skin out, cake, or oxidise.
I also love Innisfree no sebum powder, and Etude house zero sebum powder for the same reasons.
All silica based, and very light indeed.
They all make my skin feel soft and velvety, and don't block my pores.
I appear poreless, and airbrushed, and am addicted!
Go easy though, a little might be all you need (or on the t zone only).

I'm a powder addict, and have tried loads - but my mature, textured skin loves these powders the best.

No7 loose powder made me look ghostly, lined and textured. Not a good look!

OnebusyMum · 27/05/2018 20:27

Beautifullymixed sounds good. Its not being able to disguse the pores thats getting me down

I'll second RCMA loose powder, I have the no colour one. Damp beauty blender to apply and it doesn't change the colour of your make up. I used to be an oil slick before lunch time and this has sorted me right out. Beware the container doesn't make for easy dispensing so I always put a towel over my knees when applying at my dressing table as it gets everywhere!!

Yes, the no colour powder from RCMA.
I actually love the packaging.
I pour a tiny bit in my hand, then dip the beauty sponge in. I really press that powder into my face, particularly the t zone, I then dip my real techniques setting brush into the lid residue, to set my eyelids and brows - then apply eyeliner and brow pencil.

I then dab the same brush into the nose crevices, lightly under the eyes, and a little extra on the nose to disguise those pores.

I then apply eye make up, and bronzer, and only then dust off any residue with a fluffy brush.
My make up doesnt budge!

These powders are fab for touching up in the day too, as they don't alter the colour of your foundation at all.
They also don't go cakey, or pool in pores.
I blot midday, then apply in the t zone (lightly), again pressed into the skin with the same sponge (still dampish).

Airbrushed again. Smile
