My local salon are offering 20 mins for £20 and I'm seeing how many sessions I would need for facial hair. I have pcos and quite bad facial hair growth. Would 20 mins be sufficient for facial hair?

It's not that simple a question Sad

Depends how much you have, how persistent it is in growing and TBH how determined you are going to be in sticking with it to get rid of it.

20 minutes is a reasonable session as a taster and you will eradicate some hair permanently first time but you really need a course to get proper results where ou are treating hairs as soon as they appear.

Your therapist should be able to tell you how long a session you really need and over time you slowly get to cut down on duration and frequency.

With PCOS, the hormones to make new hair will still be there but 5 or 10 minutes once a month and no hair is great compaired to lots of hair and 45 minutes weekly which is where I was

Ohhhhh I'd be happy with once a month! It's really only for my facial hair - the rest I can shave -or not bother--

You have to be in it for the long-haul - it's quite a lengthy process. Just as a comparison here's my timeline (I have PCOS and very bad growth on my jaw, neck and chin:

45 min sessions twice a week for four months at £48 a session.
45 min session once a week for twelve months at £48 a session.
45 min session once a fortnight for two months at £48 a session.
45 min session once a month for six months at £48 a session.
30 min session once every six weeks for £32 a session - this is where I'm at currently; I started in April 2016.

Now I'm probably at the top-up stage - a session every two months. It's expensive, and it does hurt, but I hardly have any hairs left now, and I hardly think about it. I was one of those girls who had to shave every day - twice if I was on an evening out, and had no self confidence. I wouldn't let a boyfriend touch my face, and have only just had my first facial for the same reason. So, it's time-consuming, and expensive, but you have to think of it as an investment. I'm now 45, have had the lady beard since I was 18, and wish I had done it years ago.

I've had 5 sessions but only been i there 5 mins max for facial hair each time.
