Recommendations for clothing for my 2yo girl

Hi everyone - I've been struggling a bit recently to find nice bits for my 2yo. I love a good supermarket brand for myself but I'm just not sure which are good for childrens clothing? Up until now we've had a lot of hand me downs / clothing as gifts but her wardrobe is looking a bit bare. F&F always looks quite good when I do my food shop but I have no idea if it washes well or what the fit is like?

Hopefully someone could give me some good recommendations. Places that are good for essentials as well would be great! Thank you!!! :) :) :)

I do Asda and Sainsbury’s for essentials, and car boot sales for everything else. It’s so cheap, you can find good quality and sometimes almost unworn clothes, and I get a nice mix of styles and patterns depending on how old they are. Most of DDs favourite clothes are from car boots Smile

I second Car boots! Stock up for the winter as well!

Currently squeezed into a next high rise lift and shape skinny's ( about 5 years old ) and they are not particular high and its overflowing ekkkkk

Each season we tend to get a decent mixed bundle off ebay, fill gaps with Sainsburys Tu (best supermarket clothes IMO) and the odd 'piece' from Polarn O Pyret, John Lewis or Boden.

H&M is quite good for summer basics.

Glassofredandapackofcrisps · 25/05/2018 21:30

I like be Asda I don't think you can beat the quality for the price.
Also the next sale around July and Boxing Day stock up for the following year. But you have to be quick!
Shoes are a huge expense with my daughter but shopping in sales ahead of time means I can dress her beautifully for pennies.

Sainsbury's kids clothes are great and wear well. Particularly good value if you buy on one of their nectar card double up events where points increase in value (if you have a nectar card!).

Obviously depends on what kind of style you like but we love poloran o pyret gorgeous stuff and last really well but we only get stuff in the sale. Maxomarra is lovley aswell. A online shop rainbows and sprinkles do gorgeous stuff we've got leggings and dungarees from them. Vertbaudet is nice and they have a sale at the moment and we use Sainsburys for basics like packs of t shirts

Hi, love all the supermarket brands too, Tesco is good for topping up those club card points! but if you fancy something a bit different I really like thedinostores.com, some really cute stuff for girls and boys that don't stick to typical gender prints 😊

BikeRunSki · 17/06/2018 17:50

H&M are excellent for cheap kids clothes,. My favourite supermarket for childrens clothes is Tu at Sainsbury's. I find Tesco's shrinks badly though. Next have some nice bits too.

Now that the DC are older (6.9) , we can sometimes get a couple of years or more out of clothes if I get them a bit big, so I splash out on Boden and Joules occasionally (Boden stuff is bombproof), although DS(9) recently got an Animal t shirt and I think his days of Boden brights may be over. They also need fewer clothes because they are in school uniform/sports kit/Cub uniform a lot.

Now's the best time to pick up the basics to be honest as everyone has summer sales on!
If you're looking for basics that are going to be washed again and again, you want to make sure they're high quality, so something from Frugi or Blade and Rose would be good.
SOUZU has a really great sale on at the moment and you can just shop by age! souzu.co.uk/collections/shop-for-a-girl/size-2-3-years

Boden, Joules, John Lewis, Verbaudet, Sainsbury's

EssentialHummus · 03/07/2018 10:04

Sainsbury's is my go-to, but like a PP I buy 6-12 months in advance in the sales, for DD and sometimes for a few gifts for her little friends. DD is usually dressed far better than me!

EssentialHummus · 03/07/2018 10:05

And GAP, actually. Lovely things for babies/children, can usually find 40% off if you wait long enough.
