Decent t-shirts?

Have just been assessing my summer wardrobe and while I have a few nice trousers and skirts, I'm short on T-shirts, mainly because last year's buys are bobbled or shapeless or just look a bit rubbish.

So where's the best place to go for simple, not patterned, t-shirts that are well-cut, range of colours, and are actually hard wearing too? (Not that I think 'lasting for six months' actually counts as hard-wearing, but I'm sick of spending money on rubbish and willing to pay a wee bit more for quality).

TIA

The holy grail indeed.

I’ll add v neck to the list and I’d like them reasonably long to guarantee muffin top concealment.

Ideally for under £10 Grin

Got some amazing ones in M&S for £7.50!

Wash beautifully and don’t shrink in the tumble dryer!

Feel so silky and can’t see through it!

Those linked M&S shirts are 100% polyester Shock - must be hell to wear on a warm day! Nice cut, shame they're not cotton.

Gap and Uniqlo, occasionally a H&M

Uniglo ones are pretty fab. Long in body as well which is another holy grail for me.

SpicedPearTree · 19/05/2018 10:01

They’re fine honestly! Had mine on yesterday!

Piggery Ive recently bought some t-shirts from Mountain Warehouse that were slightly longer.

The ones I got did have motifs on (and some of the designs were naff) but they also do plain ones. Wash well and decent thickness

neveradullmoment99 · 19/05/2018 14:03

I would like them shaped like the hush cotton slub - loose, not clingy, side splits, nice length and with a V-neck. I find the hush ones too transparent for me. I do love them but at £27 a pop, far too expensive for what they are.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 20/05/2018 21:19

Thanks for the responses - yes @neveradullmoment99 I have one (prized) Hush one but £27 for something to just throw on every day is a bit much. I did get a uniqlo jacket in the sale which I was quite pleased with, so will have a look at theirs too.

The John Lewis V-Neck short sleeve cotton slub T-Shirt is a good substitute for the Hush V-neck.

And while I wouldn’t pay full price, James Perse T-shirts if, you can find them in TKMaxx, are excellent quality.

Had to come back to the thread as I've found my holy grail t-shirt: the Rosa Double Trim at Whistles! They're a wee bit expensive (£35) but absolutely worth it. 100% cotton, lovely cut.

TheClitterati · 01/06/2018 21:59

These from Rapanui are great quality, organic but are scoop neck rather than v. I'm liking mine. Great length too.

I love uniqlo, fat face and have a couple from Scandi brand Danefae which I like.

tonsattingforbjudes · 01/06/2018 22:07

Another vote for Whistles Rosa T shirt. It is expensive at £35 but is 100% cotton, comes in a good range of colours, washes perfectly, doesn't twist and doesn't cling (important for me...hate clingy t shirts!)
The sale must be coming soon....!!

teta · 01/06/2018 22:25

American vintage in linen or cotton are the best for me. I like slouchy non-clingy t shirts. M&S are too tight fitting , as are Uniqlo.

I am on the hunt too for nice work shirts and have bought some from jigsaw \link{http://www.jigsaw-online.com/product/pima-cotton-short-sleeve-tee/J19509_PU055\here}

BubblesBuddy · 01/06/2018 23:04

Cos T shirts are excellent quality. Cheap t shirts are made by poorly paid people (women) in sweat shops. You cannot, and should not, buy a t shirt for under £10. £20 is fairer to all.
