Some lovely hair products and combs for 3yo DD

DD1 is 3y4m and when she is 3.5 we are going to have a 'half birthday' as a way of getting to be a bit more of a big girl, asking her to do some big girl things like help tidying her room, but also get her some 'big girl presents'.

Currently she uses Child's Farm detangler plus an old baby hair comb but I have noticed her hair is a bit dry and scratty at the back. Her hair is fine but migtht need a conditioner now and a detangling comb.

What do you use for your preschooler?

Actually interested as have the child’s farm detangler and not wildly impressed.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 19/05/2018 08:06

Does it need a trim maybe?

SheStoodInTheStorm · 19/05/2018 08:35

Do you use conditioner?

We use a tangle teezer and find it really good.

I've been using the Johnsons baby detangling shampoo & conditioner, and the conditioning spray from the same range. It works very well on my daughter's thick tangly hair. I use a wide tooth comb when the conditioner is still in.

I also find hair clips with a "claw" rather than a snap fastening stay in much better.

Just for fun, DD1 loves a little bit of glitter spray in her hair (only when it's due a wash and we're not going anywhere!!!)

Agree with regular trims too - this makes the biggest difference if the ends are a bit straggly and tangly.

Treat her to a 'big girl' trip to the hairdressers for a trim. My dd loves it!
H&M do some nice girly hairbrushes and hair clips/bobbles/hair bands.
A bit of normal conditioner when washing her hair should be fine. I never found detangling sprays to be much good, conditioner is better.

Taking notes!

Her hair is fine so I started the detangle sprsy instead of conditioner so as not to weigh it down. Might take her for a big girl cut and glitter spray sounds fun!

Mine have loads of hair so I cut it short. Paul Mitchell baby shampoo & any decent conditioner or the Paul Mitchell detangling spray works well, it’s the best spray IMO. L’Oréal products also fab but found the kids ones too heavily scented.
