Just bought this dress. It has a Bardot neckline but what are these two loops for?

Looks like straps are an option. Did it come with some attached in a little bag (like spare buttons do)? If not you might want to check to see whether it should have done. X

Didn't notice any but will go and look!

If you want to add in detachable straps?

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 17/05/2018 20:37

For an emergency cigarette and lighter (one in each loop)? Wink

YouWereRight · 17/05/2018 20:38

To attach to your bra?

OlennasWimple · 17/05/2018 20:39

Are there loops at the back of the dress as well? They look in a slightly odd place for straps - too close together?

ferrier · 17/05/2018 20:40

Can't find any straps or buttons. There's also no loops on the back (those two are both on the front) though I guess a halter strap could be an option.

What's the pattern on the front like? Could just be the pattern that's sewed into the boob bit? If that makes sense....

I like that idea even though I don't smoke 😂

To thread the hanging strings through?

Hmmm - not making sense to me! I can be a bit style challenged though!

You put your bra straps through them to keep the dress in place. I have a few like that.

APermanentlyExhaustedPigeon · 17/05/2018 20:45

Yes, I had these on my bridesmaid dress. You thread the handing strings through those first so it pulls the dress in more to sit better on the hanger.

ferrier · 17/05/2018 20:45

To thread the hanging strings through?

Why would I do that? (curious, not disagreeing)

OP posts:
OlennasWimple · 17/05/2018 20:46

Racecar - it's a strapless dress though Confused

APermanentlyExhaustedPigeon · 17/05/2018 20:47

Oops *hanging!

Racecardriver - do you have detachable bra straps? Otherwise I can’t see how that would work. But a genius idea if they are detachable.
(Wishes I had smaller boobs)

Ah right. So down through the loop?
That could make sense because it was delivered on a skirt hanger with the neckline held in the clips of the skirt hanger so I've not actually put it on a standard hanger.

Agree with permeantly, you have a hanging strap there which we can see in the pic, you thread that through your mystery loops and it keeps the dress hanging straighter on the hanger.

Paintbox · 17/05/2018 20:49

Def not for putting bra straps through, they would be on the shoulder of the dress, not the cups

APermanentlyExhaustedPigeon · 17/05/2018 20:50

I think it depends where the hanging strings are stitched in. On mine, I think you put them up through the loops, then it pulled the sides of the dress in. It worked quite well as I am rather busty, so there was a lot of material to gather!!

ferrier · 17/05/2018 20:54

Thank you all. Dress now hanging all perky like on a proper hanger 😊

Ooh it looks fab!

ferrier · 17/05/2018 21:10

Thank you Pigeon. I am hoping it will look just as fab on as it's the most I've ever spent on a dress Confused
