Alternative to Footner

Found this in Sainsbury's yesterday. I'm going to give it a whirl this afternoon and will report back. At £6 it's cheaper than the cheapest Footner I've bought online (one of which I think might have been a fake). The instructions say to leave them on for 90-120 minutes, so that'll force me to stay at my desk at home!

I stocked up on Footner when it was £10 on Groupon recently- Planning on doing one every 3 months. I'd be interested to know of any effective alternatives though as even Footner doesn't completely shift hard skin and is pricey at £20.

Oh I'm interested to know how you find it! My feet are a disgrace Blush

Although it does not remove the hard skin a foot mask works really well , I bought mine in Poundland. They're little sock shape poly bags with moisturiser in, leave them on for 20 minutes and they transformed my "before" feet into soft as a baby's feet

Interesting. I didn't get round to it yesterday as I was busy doing other stuff and on my feet. The thing with masks and creams and stuff is that I never get round to it and then they are in a state and drastic action is required. I'm going in now!

Finally got round to it. The pair of booties is joined at the ankle ends and although I ripped them apart, using scissors would be easier. They have a sticky tab to keep them in place. Not as scented as Footner. I've put socks over them.

My feet feel a little dry today. The active ingredient in these is glycolic acid - in Footner it's lactic acid. These didn't dissolve the nail varnish like Footner.

I find using a foot file a few times a week is much better than Footer. I know a lot of people love it but I didn't like it. Tried it twice and it never removed the hard skin.

I've just soaked and pumiced my feet and am sitting with Footner on now, I tried a cheaper version but it didn't work. I've used Footner before but it's so expensive! It's on offer in Superdrug though at £15.99 buy one get one half price.

I used this Sainsbury's foot peel about a month ago! I keep meaning to get another packet as there is a bit more I'd like to peel at the heel.

It did a good job I thought. I used it after a long shower, I let my feet soak a little and then put the socks on and put a pair of normal socks on over them. I know it says to keep it on for 90 minutes but I kept it on for about 2 and a half hours as I had to get the kids fed, bathed and into bed before I could get them off. On day 4/5 I noticed lots of peeling all over. The tops of my feet and toes looked and felt baby soft by the time all the peeling was over. They are still nice and soft a month on. The soles peeled too but I feel the soles could do with another go, especially the heel bits as the skin is tougher. But look wise, the soles and heels look in a much better condition than they did. They no longer look dry and cracked but still feel a bit tough. I feel confident enough to wear sandals now but will still use another packet.

Only use it at least 2-3 weeks before you want to bare your feet as the peeling goes on forever! And it looks gross😷

I'm a little scared to use my footner, bought in the winter, totally forgot and now have nasty feet and sandals! Do you think I could get away with doing it tonight, or would it start peeling before I'm back in my sensible shoes and tights for the work week?

IggyAce · 18/05/2018 14:01

I spotted one in Primark for £4, I will have to go back and buy it to give it a try. I've used footer copies before that I got from Amazon but they keep going up in price.

wowfudge · 18/05/2018 14:15

Do it Duggee. Takes 7-10 days for the skin to start coming off. You can use an exfoliating glove to rub of the loose skin on the tops of your feet, etc.

My Footner arrived today from Amazon. It's down to £9.98. I've tried a copy before and it didn't do anything, so I always keep Footner in my Amazon basket and buy it when the price drops.

wowfudge · 20/05/2018 09:27

The skin on the tops of my feet is starting to craze, so it's had an effect.

Footner is actually a copy of Korean idea. I've been using Holika Holika Baby Silky Foot for the last 8 years - long before anyone heard of footner. Other Korean brands make these peels as well - Tony Moly, Etude House, A'Pieu. They are great and much cheaper. around £4 - £8. I get them off Ebay, just make sure that the seller is from Korea and not China. Now I have got my trusted sellers. It takes around 7-10 days to arrive.

BTW I get other things from Korea too as they are years ahead regarding skincare. Their BB, CC creams are great, with high SPF and skincare benefits (which again were copied by western beauty companies minus skincare and SPF, as were cushion foundations, lip tints etc.)
