Is this ok for sensitive skin?

I started a new beauty regime in the new year and since Easter have been coming out with awful spots daily! I've stopped using all the creams (no7 lift and laminate day and night cream and face mask, body shop vit e cleanser and toner) and the spots have stopped and my face is slowly clearing up. I've started using La Roche-Posay day cream and nothing else. But I can't tell from the ingredients list of this serum whether or not I can use it?

I'm not entirely sure what you are using now, and what you are asking!

Having reread your op I DO not think you should use the serum if it was what you were using previously

Thanks for replying. I was using so many different products it's difficult to know which is bad for me!! I read through the ingredients and have stopped using all except this one as I'm not sure if it's bad for sensitive skin or not

Sorry. The original post didn't read well. Too busy multi tasking!

It says it is suitable for normal to dry skin, not sensitive.

Is it non -comedogenic? Non pore blocking.
It will say on the label if it is, otherwise I wouldn't use it with spotty skin.

I have sensitive skin too, possibly you were overloading it with products? I find Nivea Q10 is good for mine, but I guess it depends on what irritates yours. I have added Matrixyl serum from the Ordinary and this seems okay too. Aside from this I use virtually nothing else, not much makeup and use micellar water to remove. I think if you’re sensitive less can be best. I always think it’s pointless doing lots of anti aging type things in the hope of better skin in the future if it means your skin looks rubbish now.

The serum is a fairly generic formula that should theoretically be fine for most people, it’s primarily glycerin and silicones which will give a nice “skin feel” and attract some moisture. There is nothing “special” in there though so if your skin isn’t feeling dehydrated it really won’t give you anything extra.

Considering you started to break out in April it may be that you are overloading your skin with product, in warmer weather skin tends to produce more sebum (and of course you sweat more) - most people don’t need so much product in the warmer months.

If your current simplified routine is working for you stick with it. Once everything has settled again you can try to gradually reintroduce products singly over a period of a few weeks to see if you can identify a trigger, but if you were problem free between Jan and April it doesn’t sound like any one product is causing the issue.

You may also enjoy reading back through some of the big “Fantastic skincare” threads too for tips on how to understand ingredients and select products for the future.

Thanks everyone. I think you're right-less is more on my skin. I tried that serum and within hours have come out in spots. I don't remember being this sensitive previously. I'm going to stick to my Le Roche-Posay
