Swapping skincare routine for Aldi baby wipes

So I have a skincare routine involving several steps that I've always been happy with . Double cleanse - hot cloth and oil first then wash. Followed by yul essence toner and moisturiser etc . My skin is generally fine , a little sensitive and prone to dryness but no major issues . Anyhow the other day I had to take everything off in a jiffy and grabbed a non scented Aldi baby wipe . It took everything off in a few swipes , left no residue , made my face feel super soft and hydrated. Even got rid of mascara as was non drying . Now I know people who do this routinely and I've always thought it was really bad practice / slovenly Blush, priding myself on my existing skincare regimen . Am I missing something - the wipes were actually super effective , and in the long run would be cheap and effortless . Am tempted to make it a real habit !!! Does anyone else do this ?

I have heard of professional actors getting their slap off with baby wipes, every night. So I’d have thought that was a pretty good recommendation.

If I use a baby wipe, I sometimes rinse it after in hot water & then rinse my face with it then use it to wipe round the basin

Yes as an emergency when I run out of cleanser or on holiday if I forget to pack mine. My understanding is that they’re perfectly safe to use, after all we use them on our babies’ faces if they get messy and their skin is usually a lot more sensitive than ours. The issue is more that they’re too gentle, being designed for poo wiping and not make up removal so they will struggle to remove all your make up and clean your skin properly.

I've just swapped from all this cleansing twice toning moisturizing malarkey to dove beauty bar. The end.

It's only been 5 days but my skin has never looked better.

The weird thing is troubled is that I went over it with a cotton pad and toner after as couldn't believe how clean my skin felt and there were no residues !

I've stopped buying face wipes and started using Dad's Aldi baby wipes. They are non-stingy, unlike nearly all the others I've tried. Laura face wipes always the best too, but I think the baby wipes are just the same.

DD's not Dad's!

I do! Always worked for me. Wouldn’t use any other brand than Aldi though, they are the best.

TroubledLichen · 11/05/2018 20:57

Huh I’ve often struggled to waterproof mascara off with them, clearly haven’t tried the superior powers of Aldi! Will have to give it a go.

I've always had a stringent face washing regime due to acne. Recently I've just used Huggies baby wipes (or soap and water if I'm in the shower) My skin is now clear for first time in about 20 years. Weird.

Wipes do the job for a while but eventually they make my skin grey and give me blackheads.
