Need summer t-shirts - specific requirements!

Where can I find nice, plain, good colour selection of t-shirts for the summer? They need to be not too fitted (lumps and bumps) but not massive; not too thin to reveal said bumps and lumps but not so thick they are too hot; v-neck would be better than round neck; and ideally not too expensive £8 a hit, or a buy 2 get one free/whatever type deal.

Trawled H&M, Tesco and Sainsburys in last few days - everything has prints, or logos or slogans... thank you in advance!

Gap vintage v-neck.

rosie39forever · 11/05/2018 15:24

Next have 2 for £9 or 3 for £13 not bad quality, a good selection of colours, not clingy and a good length.

Sonotkylie · 11/05/2018 15:46

I second Gap - vintage or modern - maybe experiment with petite or regular for the fit/ length you want because sometimes, they are too long.
Also try H and M online not in store which is impossible - their Conscious range has some nice drapey not clingy ones which are very like the Jigsaw one I have for 5 times the price. Sizing is a mystery though!
This is my annual hunt. It's not going well this year ...good luck

yolofish · 11/05/2018 16:32

ooh thank you will check those out! it seems like the plain, perfect tee is the holy grail... unless you want to spend megabucks which a) I cant and b) couldnt bring myself to anyway.

I did buy one logo/slogan one in H&M, picture of a lemon with slogan 'slightly bitter' which made me laugh...

I just bought a Gap vintage v neck and it is a perfect shape/fit. I want to see how well it washes and if okay, in intend to and buy many more!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/05/2018 17:12

That made no sense! If it washes well, I intend to buy many more!

TricksyLiesmith · 11/05/2018 17:22

I've just bought a v neck in m&s . Really flattering too. The arms can be rolled /turned up if you fancy them a bit shorter

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/05/2018 17:27

I refuse to buy any from M&S again. They lose their shape really quickly.

Diamonddealeroncemore · 11/05/2018 17:39

I bought 4 V necks from Gap last year and I’ve worn them right through the winter as well and they are still going strong. Sign up for their emails and you’ll get some decent discount codes.

goose1964 · 12/05/2018 22:24

I bought some in Peaocks

Shopgirl1 · 13/05/2018 09:12

I had some from gap and hush last year, all look worn and shabby now disappointingly.

Wondering if it’s worth spending a bit more - jigsaw seem to have lots, do theirs last?

peachypetite · 13/05/2018 09:13

Warehouse

JaceLancs · 13/05/2018 09:14

My best t shirts recently are from tkmaxx
Last week bought plain navy, black and white ones
Wash well and never lose shape

MaudesMum · 13/05/2018 09:21

The Gap ones seem to be on sale at the moment. Can anyone advise how true to size they are? I'm mid-way between 14 and 16, and their Large are 12-14 and XL are 16-18...

Vangoghsear · 13/05/2018 09:22

Primark.

MistyMinge · 13/05/2018 09:26

I bought some 100% linen v-neck tees from H&M. They do them most years. I buy in L so they're baggy, and wear a vest top underneath. I've tried so many, they're either too clingy, don't wash well or expensive for what they are.

I liked the Hush cotton v necks, but couldn't justify £26 on one tshirt.

I found the warehouse tshirts went bobbly really quickly.

Oasis are better quality but a bit more expensive.

I bought some of these last year and they’ve washed really well. I don’t tumble dry them though. I’m just disappointed that they don’t sell the scoop neck version this year as I don’t like a v neck for work.

The white is slightly see through, but I’ve yet to find a woman’s t shirt which isn’t.

Ohyesiam · 13/05/2018 18:58

Boden. But it would have to be in the sale, but it often is.

Misty9 · 13/05/2018 19:02

A bit more expensive but I have found white stuff t shirts last well. I got a few years out of mine before binning this year. Bought some gap longer length ones and found they ride up constantly which drives me mad. I tried on some warehouse tees and they fitted nicely but again, more than 15 quid a pop.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/05/2018 19:05

I got a Boden one in the sale but the cotton is really thick - no good at all for warm days. Any recs for good Boden ones for summer?

ihatethecold · 13/05/2018 19:07

Warehouse have some lovely cotton ones atm. I bought a green one that’s a lovely rich green.
Good length and thick enough without being too thick.
