Please help with The Ordinary - combination skin

I have so many issues with my skin - oily / blemishes, enlarged pores, dry areas, dehydrated, early signs of ageing, some pigmentation issues

The Ordinary have sample regimes for each of these things but not when you have multiple issues - or does “textural irregularities” just mean combination skin?

Please, I’m desperate - my skin is driving me crazy! Any suggestions for products to try, please let me know.

I messaged deciem and they sent me a regime. It’s buffet, hylauronic acid and niacinamide am. Buffet, niacinamide and rose hip oil evening. I’ve added in the gratanactive retinoid 2 nights a week instead of rose hip. I’ve also started the liz Earle cleanse and polish evenings only. My mum (hard to impress) has recently told me my skin has never looked better. It’s less grey, smaller pores and less oily and dry (don’t I sound lovely). I’ve started adding a drop of the clarins sun drops thingy to my night moisturiser every day or so and I am happy to go without makeup for the first time ever.

BTW it’s a pain in the butt to get at the mo but escentuals seem to have full range.

I use their salicylic acid, 30% Glycolic peel for my oiliness.

My skin on my cheeks hates nicanamide so I use it on my oily nose.

I found buffet absolutely useless, but LOVE the niacinamide, retinoid 2%, and hyaluronic acid. Although, I prefer the Hada labo premium hyaluronic serum instead.

These are my staples, although I have also added the marine hyaluronics as an extra moisture step, before the hyaluronic serum.

My skin also loves grapeseed oil as an oil cleanse, with a flannel. Also, using the oil as a last step after all the serums (I'm not a fan of moisturisers - they seem to break me out).

Thanks everyone, I’ll give some of these a try :)

Maybe you need to step away from the ordinary and just get a really.simple routine going with avene or lrp to get your skin calmed down.

SinkGirl · 11/05/2018 09:38

I’ve tried so many general products already, so many brands, nothing has really worked, so I thought trying some more targeted products may help. Maybe I just need to tackle one thing at a time.

I use the same regime as porpoise - it’s definitely made a difference

I didn't get on with Liz Earle, FWIW, & it sounds like my skin type is similar to yours, OP - combination/oily, a little dehydrated, tend to get dry patches, pigmentation, enlarged pores & blemishes. I've been following the Fantastic Skincare threads for some time now, & the difference it's made to my skin has been amazing.

Aren't the Ordinary/Deciem about to go pop as the MD seems to have gone full on meltdown, I would steer clear of them in case you find you ideal product just as it becomes unavailable.

SinkGirl I had to take a step bck as my skin was in a state. Mine is now under control thanks to this routine:
Clinique TTDO and cleanser
Cicaplast
Eucerin 5% urea
