What is the best way to deal with my moustache?

My moustache is getting out of control and I need to do something about it.

I had a bit of a hair removal disaster with veet last month which resulted two red lines where the hair was plus the odd hair that didn’t succumb to the chemicals. I used the sensitive stuff but not the specific face stuff.

I’d like something I can do myself so would rather not go down the threading route.

What are my other options? What works for you?

I use my epilator. It is the best solution for me

FishFingerInjury · 09/05/2018 12:36

Does it leave you with a lot of redness. I’m prone to this but I suppose I could do it in the evening so it has time to settle overnight.

Is it a special facial epilator?

I just bleach mine.....would that be an option?

theunsure · 09/05/2018 12:40

I use one of these, brilliant!
www.tweezerman.co.uk/smooth-finish-facial-hair-remover.html

Hurts the first few times but then is fine, no issues with redness either.

VirginHoliday · 09/05/2018 12:41

Screw it. Gillette Mach 3 is the way to go. I did the bleaching, the Veet, Nair, waxing (ouch), epilator (ouch ouch!) and threading etc.
Finally gave up and carefully whipped it off with a razor every few weeks.

The "No No Hair" thingies are meant to be fab. Wowcher and groupon often have them quite cheap.

LoniceraJaponica · 09/05/2018 12:50

No redness. There is a selection of attachments that come with mine, so I can use it anywhere.

HildaZelda · 09/05/2018 16:34

Professional wax. Done and dusted in seconds.

SleepFreeZone · 09/05/2018 16:35

Epilator and keep doing it. Over time the Hair weakens and it doesn’t go as red or hurt so much.

LilySwamp · 09/05/2018 16:38

Get one of these, op, it's bloody brilliant. It's so gentle and soft but does a great job of getting rid of fashion fluff and tash hairs.

Fashion fluff? = facial fluff Blush

Borridge · 09/05/2018 16:41

I second the tweezerman although I only use it for my chin. I feel naked without my tache.

Rubyslippers7780 · 09/05/2018 16:47

49p on amazon. Amazing.

pandorawithtreaclecolouredhair · 09/05/2018 18:04

Agree with a PP about a salon wax being done in seconds: perhaps you could think about giving this a go.

Centreparcsooheer · 09/05/2018 18:29

Trouble I find with a salon wax is having a tache on view so that they can wax if off. I tweezer as they appear and occasionally use wax strips to get rid of fluff

SouthWestmom · 09/05/2018 18:35

Embrace it? Defy societal expectations and go full twirl

Why not threading?

crimsonlake · 09/05/2018 18:56

Do not buy the ' No No ' I bought one and it is a complete waste of money.

sunsetheaven · 09/05/2018 19:02

What about hair laser removal? Anyone tried it?

LoniceraJaponica · 09/05/2018 19:09

I have heard loads of negative reviews about the NoNo.

ArieltheMermaid1720 · 09/05/2018 19:12

Epistick all the way.

OldHag1 · 09/05/2018 19:13

How about waxing? I think it’s the best option. I get my eyebrows and lip done in a salon earliest daytime appointment it’s red for a bit but soon serpttles -about- -an- -hour- -or- -three-

Lifeaback · 09/05/2018 19:29

I got mine waxed professionally for years but now I have an at home wax kit which I use. I can get away without waxing now as the hair has thinned out from years of waxing but I still do it every couple of months

FishFingerInjury · 09/05/2018 20:31

Re. threading and waxing, i’ve Only just managed to get on top of doing my eyebrows myself after a rubbish threading experience last year. I’d rather not have to start paying out and finding time to get my tache done at a salon now that I don’t get anything else done there.

Going to check out some of the buffers. I’m also interested in the epilator because I could then use it in other places.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

I wax at home using cold wax strips. They do leave the odd hair but that's easy enough to get with tweezers.

There's no mess and it's fairly economical as I buy the leg strips and cut them up myself.

wizzler · 09/05/2018 20:47

I use the tweezer man thingy. Bought one after seeing a thread on here. Brilliant and cheap too
