Does anyone use reusable cotton/cloth pads for removing makeup/washing your face?

Where do you get them from?

I do use muslin cloths but they are too harsh for using on my eyes and I can't use them everyday on my face either, so looking for something gentler for everyday.
TIA.

Pack of flannels from Primark - 3 flannels for around £2 if that. Launder regularly and cheap as chips to throw away when they start to look a bit tired.

Flannels. Use once or twice, launder and repeat. Easy.

I use the Superdrug Vitamin E Hot cloth cleanser which has a cloth provided. The cloth is muslin, but seems finer than some of the other face washing cloths I've seen. The cleanser is £5 and quite often 2 for 1, so it's a cheap way of getting a collection of them.

The muslins soften the more you wash them. Alternatively, try Cheeky Wipes - I’ve just bought some of their washable make up remover pads to reduce the amount of cotton wool I buy. The pads are huge and very soft.

For washing my face/body I use fleece wipes that are actually meant as reusable nappy wipes. They are lovely and soft and I got them from the nappy lady online.

I would second cheeky wipes!

I have some in the same fabric for my toddler and they have washed and worn incredibly well-still going strong after 2 years

NC4Now · 08/05/2018 15:05

What product do you use with them? Just cleanser?

MsAtomicBomb · 08/05/2018 15:07

I cut up the free towel I got in my baby bounty pack into squares and use those Blush

I use cotton wool pads on my eyes. I use disposable pads for this because my eyes are so sensitive I need to take more care than most people. Also mascara really stains the washable cloths.

For the rest of my face I use muslin cloths. I use them once and then wash. I've gathered them over the years 'free' with various cleansers. If you look after them well they last for ages. I wash at 30 or 40 and hang to dry.

We have a stash that the whole family uses, a mixture of towelling washable wipes from when DCs were babies (teens now so they've done great service), newer bamboo washable wipes which are softer, muslin wash cloths from facial cleansers and odd random flannels acquired over the years. Use once and wash with the towels.

Theimpossiblegirl · 08/05/2018 16:24

Cheeky Wipes are fab.

I get £5 if you use my referral, but to be open and honest, like them on FB and a better code will come up soon. Also, you don't need to spend £40.
:)

Etsy - lots of one-person businesses on there stitching away! I bought 3 different types from different sellers to test out and they're all fab. Only problems I find (wherever I buy them from) is that my waterproof mascara never quite washes out of them and they can get stuck around the washing machine door during the wash.

LadyLapsang · 08/05/2018 18:05

I have a selection of muslin clothes which come with cleansers and white cotton flannels from John Lewis. If I'm ordering anything just under the free delivery charge from JL, I just bump up the order with a few flannels. Just use them once and in the wash. I have lots.

SpeckledyHen · 08/05/2018 19:27

White IKEA flannels are lovely and only 40 pence each .

SuddenBeetE · 08/05/2018 21:56

Little lamb bamboo baby wipes for me! I bought a pack (think of 12?) about 4 years ago and they’re still going strong, lovely and soft.

CMOTDibbler · 08/05/2018 22:09

I use cheap white flannels - they can be boil washed and having loads of them makes them an easy use once and throw in their laundry basket

JDSTER · 08/05/2018 22:18

Exactly the same as whoknowswhere , a basket in the bathroom with a variety of cloths that the whole family use. I’ve got Liz Earle muslins I’ve had for years which are incrediblely soft now. I do prefer cotton wool pads for mascara removal though.
