Officewear and smart shoes... without tights? How?

How do people manage this? I work in a school with a smart dress code so have to wear smart clothes, but my classroom is boiling. I’ve never managed to wear dresses/skirts without tights though, or trousers without knee highs, as I just find the shoes so uncomfortable.

Tips? Softer shoes that are ok to wear barefoot? (Must be closed toe and formal) Some kind of magic invisible sock? How do other people manage this?

Thank you Flowers

I never wear tights, awful things! I wear socks, invisible ones, normal ones with boots and add in leggings in the winter.

Weird shoe liner things, unless it’s with sandals where I can usually manage!

I hear you, hot sweaty feet in leather shoes is really uncomfortable. My best tip is to size up, a little extra room makes for less rubbing. Obviously not too big though as then you can't walk! Second best tip is to minimise walking and if you have to walk, have less fashionable and more comfortable pair of shoes to change into.

Sock liners help but I find they get bunched up or move around.

I hate those shoe liner sock thingies, but have the same problem. I find really soft leather helps and last year discovered a compeed anti rub stick thing which leaves a layer of silicone and works quite well:

But can’t you see the ‘weird sock liner things’? Doesn’t that look odd?

Odoureater insoles make me feel better about being bare foot in shoes. I would still prefer socks though!
