Double cleansing

What products do you use to double cleanse. I used to use ultrabland & ponds cold cream, but I think they're both oil based - although my skin was in great condition! I've got a bit lazy recently, just using some Simple cleansing lotion, but I'm getting a bit blotchy! What do you use for your 2nd cleanse in particular?

Wipe off makeup with an oil. Then, flannel and Clinique face wash. Finish with Clinique toner.

Watching with interest!

GrimDamnFanjo · 07/05/2018 00:56

I usually use oil/balm then my sum37 which is a soap.

Blondie1984 · 07/05/2018 00:59

I use Ponds cold cream for my first and then Elemis pro collagen cleansing balm for my second

Mmmmmmmchips · 07/05/2018 01:20

Mine is long
Bi phase over eyes
Micellar water all over face
EH moringa balm
Elem is tri enzyme face wash although I am going to try something cheaper next although I don’t like anything foamy as I feel it strips my skin

Oil: popular ones are Clinique Take the Day Off, Body Shop Camomile Balm Cleanser or Heimish All Clean Balm.

Creamy cleansers: La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser, Avène Extremely Gentle Cleanser, Hada Labo Rohto Gokujyn Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Foam.

Vaseline for eyes, rub it in well taken off with dampened cotton wool pad

Votary cleansing oil with hot flannel

Philosophy purity foaming cleanser with flannel

Followed by nip and fab pad, dragons blood serum or some Aurelia face oil mixed in with balance me moisturiser.

A few nights a week I follow up with Korres sleeping facial.

It sounds a lot, but I do have quite lovely skin, apart from occasional spots. When I can’t be bothered (ie when life gets busy) it shows!

FaceTheory do some nice cleansers with unscented options, which is great for more sensitive skin. I haven't tried them yet but tempted by the Jojoba oil cleanser.
Cruelty free, don't export to countries who demand animal testing as a condition for selling, made in the UK and not too expensive. Their bamboo facecloths are meant to be super soft.

I've just started using the Pixi/Caroline Hurons Double Cleanse. Three days in and I really like it.

Rememory · 07/05/2018 16:32

Oh ffs can I ever post and check it first!!!!! Obviously not. Hirons

Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil following by NIOD Sanskrit Saponins

wizzywig · 07/05/2018 19:55

I just use kiehls ultra facial wash with a flannel and then wash again with the same wash. Is it supposed to be 2 different cleansers? I have oily skin and wear makeup

EdWinchester · 07/05/2018 20:18

I mix it up.

I use Clarins, Liz Earle, Pixi, Clinique Take the Day Off, Eve Lom and something else I can't think of the name of.

TheFirstMrsDV · 07/05/2018 20:52

I have a huge amount of stuff so I grab whatever.
I tend to use an oil, micellar or tonic type (take the day off) first. I follow that with a cream or lotion type.
I use cleansers that you are supposed to tissue off as hot cloth cleansers too.

Double cleansing has been the best thing I have ever done for my skin.
I was trying increasingly expensive moisturizers to try and sort out my flaky nose. nothing worked. I started DCing and it all went!

I was using cheap white flannels but am now trying out those clothes that are supposed to remove makeup with just water (I am still using cleanser).

TheFirstMrsDV · 07/05/2018 20:53

I really liked the Ernest Lazlo sample I got. Its a bar and an oil.

Rememory · 08/05/2018 16:11

I'm using those cloths too Mrs DV. I got them in Primark. Much softer than a face cloth

ChangoMutney · 08/05/2018 17:33

Emma Hardie morenga balm followed by Aldi micellar water. From the sublime to the ridiculous.

Shmithecat · 08/05/2018 18:25

Currently using the Pixi/Caroline Hirons double cleanse. I like it a lot.

OCSock · 08/05/2018 20:24

DHC Oil, then micellar (generic, usually what's on offer).
