What would you do with a hairline like this?

I have a pointy hairline which looks awful and makes me forehead look huge.

I tend to keep a full fringe but it's so annoying as is either too long, too short or the slightest bit of damp and it goes curly and sits awfully.

What would you do?

According to a Japanese friend, this type of hairline is lucky.

PugwallsSummer · 06/05/2018 20:31

I was going to suggest a fringe but you already have one. Have you asked your hairdresser what they would recommend? They must have loads of clients with a similar hairline...

Sorry that's not very helpful.

A 'choppy' fringe, so cleverly cut into by the hairdresser?

Mulberrysilk · 06/05/2018 20:46

I had that hairline.
When I was around 20 I got the idea that I hated it and randomly one day I took a tweezers to the pointed bit in the middle to soften it. It looked a bit odd at first a the skin underneath looked like scalp rather than regular skin but I kept it up. Like over plucked eyebrows, it stopped growing back. I'm not saying I recommend it but that's what I did.

Would a side parting work? That is one awesome widow’s peak!

Bugjune · 06/05/2018 23:52

It's pretty cool, I'd make a feature of it.

BrightonCalling · 07/05/2018 00:02

I have a slight widows peak AND a cowlick, I just roll with it and have a constant "flipped over" 90s style front section

Kourtney Kardashian has the same hairline and she wears her hair however she likes, especially in a centre parting. I think it’s just about styling, I would probably blow dry the fringe area with a round brush to get it to lay exactly where you want.

I wouldn’t think anything negative of it if I saw you in person - I genuinely wouldn’t notice!

If you’re naturally curly and don’t enjoy styling your hair often, you could grow your fringe out

JellySlice · 07/05/2018 08:44

Isn't it strange how we see ourselves (from the inside) totally differently to how others see us (from the outside)?

I see your hairline as elegant, characterful and dramatic - an absolutely-everything-works feature! Embrace it, you're beautiful.

But if you want to try styles that soften your hairline, how about a side-parting or a whispy suggestion of a fringe? Allowing your natural curl to express itself may also give you more options, with layering.

ElderflowerWaterIsDelish · 07/05/2018 08:54

Try experimenting with lots of different partings, and take photos for each parting so you can later review them and see which looks best..

If you really really want to change your hairline permanently your only two options is to either have hair transplant (to fill in the sides so that instead of a point you have a more traditional hairline)...or laser hair removal to remove a portion of the point (I read somewhere that Kim kardashians had a load of wispy baby hairs when she was younger and she used this method to get rid of them and get a more polished look)

Personally your hairline looks great...for more ideas Google female celebrities with widows peak hairstyles...or hair styles for females with widows peaks...and then look at the Google images that the results bring up and you might be able to find some ideas from all the picturesGrin

I've seen people use those 'hide your greys' sprays to disguise a sparse hairline. Just very slightly in the deepest parts.

I have to say though, I don't see anything wrong with yours... it's just a characteristic - like freckles or eye colour.

I have honestly never heard anyone say 'OMG look at that woman's hairline'
