Sandles that hide your toes but don't look frumpy.

My feet are fungal nail infection central. Nice. I've been trying to get rid of it for years but no success. I can't take the tablets because I'm on other meds. I don't wear nail polish.

So I would like sandles that hide my toe nails. I don't mind a bit of latice or subtle cut out shapes but all I can find is fumpy. I can't do ankle straps or those sandles that have buckles going up your leg.

Help!

Palmaria sandals - both the flat and wedge ones hide toenails.

Hm. I like these but I've just seen the bit about no ankle straps. Will post anyway in case it's useful.

Can I ask HeyDolly, do those cover all your toes? I tried the Next ones in last week but my toes still poked out a bit which isn't pleasant.

TantricTwist · 06/05/2018 11:05

Jim go to a decent chiropodist and they will get rid of it in no time

Ollivander84 · 06/05/2018 11:18

blibb- they do. Here are mine - they're SO comfortable

Thanks, one more question if I may. I have wide feet, will they stretch or are they to stiff?
Oh and gunmetal or silver? I need them to go with everything Smile

Ollivander84 · 06/05/2018 11:29

They stretch, there's some sizing info on the website too as I think the glitter/leopard ones don't stretch as much
I do like the gunmetal! I got grey but my next ones will be leopard and neon

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 06/05/2018 12:49

Might have just bought a pair of palmiras from the outlet but!

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 06/05/2018 12:51

Oh and I have the fungal nail problem too. I have used lotions, plasters, pills and sandpaper! My gp says there is nothing that can be done as I have had the infections for more than ten years and literally tried everything.

PinkbicyclesinBerlin · 06/05/2018 12:58

They are fab Olivander almost magical Wink

Itscurtainsforyou · 06/05/2018 21:35

Vicks vapo rub is supposed to help fungal nails.

silentpool · 07/05/2018 10:20

OP, try Babyfoot or similar. Those peel layers off your feet. That plus another round of treatment, might help you knock this thing on the head. Coconut oil is also a known antifungal in the tropics, where these infections are rife.

Mercurial123 · 07/05/2018 12:03

I have some Sam Edelman flatform sandals, they look like Bikenstocks with a bit of a platform. I love them but I can see why some may think they are a bit ugly.

rightknockered · 07/05/2018 12:33

Oh no, those Palmiras are gorgeous! I may need 2 or 3 pairs

duriandurian · 07/05/2018 13:19

Vicks vapo rub as PP said! Magic stuff. Or coconut oil wigh tea tree and lavender but it isn't as good I reckon (DH prone to icky toenails)

ForgivenessIsDivine · 07/05/2018 15:52

See a homeopath for fungal feet... always worth a try when all else fails.. (and no need for anyone to add that homoeopathy is just sugar and water and a waste of money.. you can choose to ignore the advice..)

ThenCameTheFools · 07/05/2018 16:15

Another fungal toe person here, and also with plantar fasciitis (nobody's going to invite me to be a foot model anytime soon!) Menorcan sandals are great, especially the wedge ones. The leather is very soft, so they stretch a lot I find- I am really a 7.5-8 but I can get away comfortably with a 7 in Menorcan sandals.

The best IMO are Rias, but Solillas/Palmairas/Avarcas are all good.

I keep forgetting the Vics thing, might give it a go again.

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 07/05/2018 19:00

Tried the baby foot things didn’t work. Will try vicks as I am desperate after ten years plus!

Flikka40 · 08/05/2018 21:08

Op. I visit a chiropodist for Wilde-Pedique treatment. The chiropodist rebuilds my nails using this technique and they look perfect. For years I hid my crappy toes in trainers all summer. Now I can wear what every I like. It's brilliant. Last year I had a treatment in early summer and another in August. Each treatment cost around £35. I recommend it.

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 12/05/2018 13:51

Um well the palmiras really didn't work for me!

Snowysky20009 · 12/05/2018 14:01

Ouch!!

GreatSoprendo · 12/05/2018 22:56

I'm in the same boat with awful nails and just bought my second pair of Palmeiras today. I love them! So comfortable and hide your toes while still letting a bit of air in.

GreatSoprendo · 12/05/2018 22:57

Oh and I'm also using both oregano oil and Vicks on my nails and gradually seeing some improvement after about 6 years of problems (I also cant have the oral meds)
