Experience with THINX underwear? Suitability for sweating?

Ok so- this is slightly (very) embarrassing but I have a problem in which I sweat a lot from my bum, to the extent that in the summer or when I’ve been walking a lot I can get visible sweat patches. I can deal with sweat patches under arms etc, but I find the ones I get on my bum just mortifying and i am totally paranoid about it (as you can imagine)

Obviously I know thinx are designed as period pants, but I was thinking would they also work to prevent sweat patches down there? I don’t mean for everyday use, but maybe when I want to wear specific items of clothing (ie not just black trousers as I have been wearing for the last year or so for fear of the patches) or when I know I will be walking a lot/getting hot.

So basically- have any of you tried thinx? What did you think? And do you reckon they be suitable for the purpose I want them for?
(Ps- sorry for the interrogation but is the protection all over or just in the gusset of the pant?)

Thanks!!! Xoxo

The protection is all over and they probably would work for this. You'd have to get a style that covers all the affected areas, ie if your lower back is part of the issue the pants will have to be a high-cut style iyswim.
The downside is that they feel a bit sweaty on (they do to me anyway, others may disagree) so they could make the problem worse as well as making it better. Smile
They also do pants for bladder leaks (sorry, can't remember the name but googling should get you there) which could also work.

Where exactly is the problem area? Lower back? Under bum cheeks? Have a look at uniqlo' s airism rage or sporty dry wicking fabric - specific sports underwear maybe?

I don't have any suggestions op, I just came on to commiserate. I used to get sweat patches on the line between the inner thigh and pubic area, like the arm pit of the leg. When I discovered it I was mortified and I stopped walking fast in summer and wearing clothes that darkened with sweat. Hope you find a solution.

I’m a sweaty person too, I put a swipe of roll on anti-perspirant in the same place that dudsville is describing.

Have you tried maybe spraying anti-perspirant all over your bum area OP?

Thank you all so much for your replies!
The problem area is more kind of under bum cheeks, so say from half way down the crack (😬) round and underneath (sorry, a bit crass but I don’t really know how to describe it!) don’t tend to get any issues with my lower back.
I’ve ordered the Thinx and will see how they are- tbh at this stage I don’t really mind what they feel like I just want anything that will prevent visible patches- if the pants are absorbent surely that means they’ll do the trick?
As for using deodorant down there- I have thought about it but I worry about causing irritation?! So have always been a bit dubious!
But as I said at this point I’ll try anything so I may give it a go...
Thanks again xx

Hi! I just came across your post as I was searching the same thing! I feel your pain! But I wanted to tell you, I have Thinx (and their line for bladder leaks called Icon) and I do believe they help with a sweaty bum. Smile I have resorted to wearing skorts in the summer combined with my Thinx, especially the Hip Huggers, any time I know it’ll be very hot out. I think you’ll be happy with them. Good luck!
