Ow! It hurts and my shoes are making it worse. Has anyone bought any particular shoes which help? I work in quite a conservative office environment (usually wear clarks hamble oaks) so I need some work shoes. I'm wearing trainers out of work.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Yes agreed finally. I am also doing calf stretches, and rolling a ball under my foot. I need a pair of shoes to wear about the house which don't make it worse too.

I've had PF for about 6-7 years and keep it at bay by wearing Fitflops- I can now occasionally wear other shoes but wear Fitflop slippers religiously at home.

They are expensive but really good quality and totally worth it!

Hi

I have had PF since Feb 2017 and in the last 2 months it has become so much better. I remember reading up on treatments in NICE guidelines and they said not much evidence that anything really worked. What helped me was asic trainers, taping the foot and discovered these ugly shoes but they are fab. Sorry Probably not great in the summer but I wear mine all the time in the house. Hope it gets better quickly

It's been marginally better today, I did the toe pointing in bed this morning, stair stretches and wore an old pair of birkinstocks. Don't know which one worked but I can limp around a bit better. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Ice your feet for 15-20 mins each evening, I keep booboo buddies for this.
Crocs are best as slippers + wear the bounciest shoes you can find, proper sensible trainers, not converse.
For work I have docs with extra arch support insoles in, when I am customer facing and trainers/walking boots for hiding in the stacks.Grin

Crocs in the house all the time for support. Fitflops when out and about. This combination is finally working for me.

Vionics do smart shoes with arch support built in - think someone mentioned them up thread. I had insoles from the podiatrist (referred by gp) which helped enormously but didn't fit in normal shoes as they pushed my heels up too far.

For me what helped was vionics or a small wedge heel for work, or boots with insoles, calf stretches and yoga and Birkenstocks at home. And time.

My podiatrist not a fan of sketchers as he says they're not supportive enough, he recommended Asics.

I've got to give an update... this time a week ago I couldn't put my foot down flat and was limping around in a lot of pain. I started to do the stretches, toe pointing, and taping my foot, I then used an old pair or birkinstocks in the house - these combined helped a bit. I received the pro 11 shoe inserts today and oh my word the relief! The improvement is immense. I'm still waiting for delivery of my fit flops, but these inserts have really helped. Thanks to all who made suggestions.
