Looking for a facial one and a body one but not quite sure where to start. I have quite a limited budget but don't want anything shonky.

I got a 1.5 mm one off eBay ages ago and it's been fine. Haven't used it for ages but it really made a difference.

I think if you're going for anything with needles longer than that you'd be better off getting one from a reputable supplier because you'll be drawing blood.

Mine were bought to use on my face.
I have 0.2 mm which you can use almost daily.
0.5 mm which you can use around once a week.
1.00 which you could use maybe once a fortnight or less. I believe that's the minimum depth that should stimulate new collagen over time.

They have titanium needles and came from Amazon (not expensive).

There's so much conflicting information about how often, how long the needles and so on. I do think it is worth doing but best not to overdo it. Also, I've read that it takes time to stimulate the collagen (if the needles are going deep enough to do that) and too much needling interrupts the healing / regeneration process.

Whatever you do make sure to clean and sterilise the rollers after every use.

LadyoftheCanyon, I thought 1.5 mm was too deep for the face but obviously not if you are fine with it.

My bad! I meant 0.5 - sorry!

I have a cheapo one from Amazon as well. I do it twice a week. Not had any problems at all. Mine is 0.5

Well I have ordered a multi one from Amazon. It has different needle lengths for face and body.
Now if anyone has any tips on how to deal with a turkey neck which seems to have appeared over night Hmm ....

@Ihopeyourcakeisshit, I've recently bought a NuFace Mini for my turkey neck and I think it's working. Early days but I do think I see some improvement and my skin is glowing as an added bonus. I'm also using The Ordinary's Retinoid 2% in squalene (I think that's what it's called). And occasional dermarollering / microneedling. I'm on a mission!

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 04/05/2018 15:44

Village, I had a quick look at the ordinary website but I didn't really know what to look for, seemed far too confusing, squalenes and buffets?
I'll have to stick to face wash and nivea for the moment. I may start doing some face exercises before I buy any more devices, but like you I am on a mission!

It is confusing, I agree.

I bought the 'buffet' serum:
theordinary.com/product/rdn-hyaluronic-acid-2pct-b5-30ml

and the 2% Retinoid in Squalane:
theordinary.com/product/rdn-granactive-retinoid-2pct-in-squalane-30ml?redir=1

Both are very cheap, might even be cheaper than the Nivea I was using. You can still use Nivea on top. (I like the Nivea smell.)

The NuFace mini was on special offer at Current Body. I think it's gone back up to £150.00 and I doubt I would have bought it at that price.

Facial exercise is good too. :)
