Is it possible to get "natural looking" ones? Don't want the strip ones so are there also literally single ones added hair by hair or just those in little bunches only? I just don't want to be faffing with mascara anymore but at the same time don't want to look washed out. Does such animal exist?

They look amazing BUT the maintenance and upkeep is a pain. I had several sets but I could not be bothered after a while. Go to someone reputable and not cheap. Price is everything with lashes. Lash lift is my solution for great lashes. Try LVL first maybe, see how you get on.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 01/05/2018 20:53

Thanks fluffy. what is the cost roughly? I looked at the website but it just listed local beauticians - the majority of the mobile ones with no websites and the two salons with websites didn't actually have LVL on their price lists!

Yes. Try the LVL first! I've tried both and this was both more.comfortable and less upkeep!

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 01/05/2018 21:06

Ok, found local beauticians. from £49 to £60. Will keep looking. Shall I try groupon or too risky??

Thanks MN Grin. I would have no clue what to look for

I got them for my wedding and absolutely loved the look of them, made such a difference to my usually-bare face and made me feel very glam. However... they did not fall out naturally and easily with my own lashes as I was promised. I endured two weeks of itchy, clumpy lashes which no amount of rubbing or cleansing would soothe. Lazy old me wouldn’t go to the salon to have them professionally removed 😁

pigaletta · 01/05/2018 21:17

Sorry should have been specific... I had the silk lash extensions so lots and lots of individual lashes added to mine. Was surprised that it wasn’t painful/uncomfortable to have them applied and it only took 20 mins!

DuchyDuke · 01/05/2018 21:19

It’s easier to remove strip lashes and you can get some really realistic ones nowadays.

PivotPivotPIVOTTT · 01/05/2018 21:20

Pigaletta olive oil removes them! I get individual eyelash extensions mine are long thick ones I love them but you do get more natural ones. It makes such a difference to my face and I feel more confident when I've got no make up on.

akitas2 · 01/05/2018 21:25

I've had 2D lash extensions twice now, and they lasted really well. I think they are two joined together and then put in "individually". They fell out naturally and I wasn't left with noticeable odd lashes or different on each side. They did sting in the shower after I had them done for the first few days. The lasted four weeks I would say.

pigaletta · 01/05/2018 21:26

Aw Pivot for real?! At least I’ll know for next time!

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 01/05/2018 21:33

silk, 2 D

with LVL - do I need to have tint with it? I once had a tint and it make fuck all difference - my eyelashes are black.

Pigaletta It's very messy and you end up with strands of cotton wool tangled round your eyelashes Grinit takes a while but the come off eventually.

FrangipaniBlue · 01/05/2018 22:30

I had LVL individual ones done for a wedding abroad, I'd had them on a week and they were getting on my nerves, I sat and picked them off on the flight home and 70% of my own lashes cane with them Confused

Never. Again.

Toomanyslippers · 02/05/2018 05:54

I had eyelashes extensions for about 3 months and loved them, they really open your eyes and make you look like you are wearing make up when you aren't.

Downside is that it's very expensive as you have to have refills every 2 weeks otherwise they look really sparse.

Also when they come out they snapped my lashes off so when I decided I couldn't afford the upkeep anymore, I had to endure 4 weeks of looking like I had no eyelashes - that was awful!!!

Oogle · 02/05/2018 06:13

I have Russian lashes. £50 for the first set, £25 for infills which I have every 2-3 weeks. I love them! She makes the fans herself rather than buy then ready made which does lengthen the process but they look amazing.
You can’t shower/have a hot bath the same day after having them done but I just shower in the morning to combat that.
I barely wear make up these days - just a bit of foundation and lipstick. Never bother with eyeshadow. If you do wear eyeshadow, remove with cheap wet wipes as they have less oil in them.

I’ve had them for 3 months now and I’ve noticed my natural lashes are in a much better condition - they’re a lot longer and thicker, probably because I’m not coating them in mascara and using make up remover every day!

MissReginaPhilange · 02/05/2018 06:17

I paid 34 for a full set and 10 each week and a half for infills. They are shorter than some not overly long and I love them. They totally transformed how I look . I not the girlies of women and got them.on a whim but honestly wouldn't be without them now.

Mooey89 · 02/05/2018 06:33

I do lashes.
They should not take 20 minutes Shock
That’s why they were clumpy and sore!!!

They should be individually applied to each of your natural lashes - these are ‘individual or ‘classic’ lashes - 1 false to 1 natural lash.
This looks more natural, it doesn’t fill them out but only lengthens your natural lash.

Volume lashes, or Russian volume, are ‘fans’ of lashes, made at the time by the beautician, of finer, lighter lashes. The result is fluffy and less heavy than individuals but often more dramatic. It’s more expensive and takes longer.

If someone can do a set of lashes in less than 1.5 hours (maybe 1 hour for individuals for someone mega experienced at a push), do not go to them, they will not be done properly and they will damage your lashes.

Lash lifts are another great alternative - they last a bit longer, I like Ellebana but LVL is good too.

I love mine. No bullocks about baths and showers though.

Mooey89 · 02/05/2018 06:48

Vlad
You shouldn’t get them wet for 24 hours, as it stops the glue curing properly and will affect your retention. Same with steam rooms/saunas. You also need to avoid oil based products while you wear them as it breaks down the glue.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 02/05/2018 06:52

Make sure you get individual ones!! I had some done earlier this year. They were meant to be individual but she did cluster instead. Fine the first couple of goes but when I had them removed they had been too heavy for my lashes and I had ONE eyelash left on one eye and some stubs on the other side. I had to wear strip lashes for weeks.

I had LVL last month, loved the effect but I found the whole thing really stressful. Don't know why as I was fine having lashes applied.

ems137 · 02/05/2018 06:54

I get Russian volume lashes. I've had them on for around 6 years now, getting them infilled every 2 weeks.

I think the first set cost around £50 and the infill, which takes an hour, costs £25.

I never wear makeup anymore, the lashes do enough for my face that I feel confident enough without any on.

Mooey89 · 02/05/2018 06:56

Cluster are not the same as volume.
Cluster are pre made and have a little ball at the end, they are designed for short term use - a few days and the glue should not be the same as individuals. Unfortunately so many ‘beauticians’ don’t know/care about this and it causes so much damage to natural lashes, they can’t grow with clusters on so you end up with bald eyes.

Luckystar1 · 02/05/2018 07:00

I’ve had them a few times. They look amazing but honestly, I just can’t be arsed with it. I just didn’t have the time for constant maintenance, mine fell out quickly and so I was left with gaps that look ridiculous.

You go swimming/out of the shower/wake up in the morning and they’re pointing in every direction.

Honestly, I found a really good mascara and have had lots of compliments about my eyelashes and it’s a lot less costly/work.

VladPutin · 02/05/2018 21:21

I’ve had them for over s year. I’ve bathed with no problem
