Floral dress ok for an interview?

Last time I had an interview (12years +) I wore a black suit.

I’ve got short notice interview on Wednesday morning which I wasn’t expecting and don’t have an outfit!

Trawled my wardrobe & have the choice of a below knee black, white and grey floral dress (prom style ish) with the black jacket from my old suit. Or my old suit with wide-leg flowy trousers.

I don’t the time or money to get anything tomorrow.

I’ll be home based if I get the job & no office to check out the normal office attire.

Which to wear?

It looks fine.

It's spring as well, so flowers are seasonal and your dress pattern is cheery but also subtle and not loud.

I think the outfit could work well enough for an interview, but I'd avoid the ankle boots if you have a good alternative like low-heeled courts (they chop you off at the ankle and the skirt is too long for that) and definitely don't button the jacket up as you have in the photo (it's intended for a trouser suit, so it's too long for the dress and buttoning it up just emphasises that).

Hard to judge without knowing what the trouser suit looks like by comparison, though.

Thanks for the advice all but still felt so uneasy with it this morning so thankfully managed to change plans to pop out and bought a more suitable dress.

Figured if I get the job that will pay for it and if not I’ve got a dress for the next interview...

I'm debating wearing a floral dress to my interview Tuesday. As I didn't expect an immediate response from my application either 😂 I've got wider since my last job so I think needs must. I bought smart shoes 😂
