I look like a scarecrow!

I used to have beautifully soft silky wavy hair. As I get older it's just getting frizzier, drier and generally more uncontrollable.

I've tried so many expensive conditioners, serums etc. and have had it all cut off into a bob in the hope it would grow back in better condition. It didn't. In fact it was worse shorter as it just stuck out even more! If I spend ages blow drying and straightening it I look ok for a few hours, but the slightest bit of moisture in the air and I'm back to wild woman. I've tried the curly girl method but it just looked like wool.

Does anybody have similar hair that they've managed to tame? If I thought I could get away with it I'd just get a pixie cut but I know I'd look terrible. I've attached a photo, I've never coloured my hair, the ends are just so dry they look lighter!

It sounds like you might be working against your natural hair condition. It looks wavy, so maybe curling it would be better? I know what you mean about weather conditions affecting the look. I have similar problems with my straight but fine hair. I find that wearing hooded coats/jackets helps keep my hair less frizzy.Yours is a lovely colour. Have you had a look on YouTube for any tips?

What shampoo are you using? I have dry hair too and my hairdresser said shampoo makes a huge difference and recommended Revlon Equave (you can buy a box of the shampoo and the leave-in conditioner in TK Maxx atm) and Wella Brillance shampoo (also TK Maxx - giant red bottle). The leave-in conditioner in particular is fab as it doesn't build up like other products I've tried have.

Thank you both. I've tried going curly but it doesn't seem to work, I don't get a nice curl just a frizz, I think I'm just not very good at hair styling.

I will get myself to TK Maxx to see if they have any of the products you've been recommended, anything's worth a try!

Me too OP. Coconut oil is brilliant, try working a very small amount in a few hours before you shampoo
