Help with curly hair (toddler)

My one year old has very curly hair. She has a bath every night and it's towel dried then it dries fully while she's sleeping. It's always frizzy when she wakes up (she moves around a lot in her sleep).

Frizzy hair isn't a real concern for us now, but I'm sure at some point it will be, e.g. getting proper photos done, special occasions, when she's older and actually cares. So please can someone tell me how to deal with curly hair? Obviously I can't use a hairdryer on her but could use a "product" although not an aerosol or anything really chemically. Her hair is currently just washed with a baby shampoo or all-over baby wash.

@RumblyGrumbleNoise silk or even satin pillowcases are brilliant! They don't absorb as much moisture as cotton (not even close) so your skin and hair will feel more moisturised when you wake up in the morning. I find now that as soon as I go back to cotton pillows (forget to take my satin ones to hotels!) my skin and hair feels awful in the morning. What's even better is a satin hair bonnet (never sleep without mine) but that's definitely an Afro hair thing Wink

My little one has ringletty curls. I bath him in the morning so that when he goes to bed his hair is dry already. When he goes to bed with wet hair it frizzes much more.

Slightly off topic but I wouldn't put a child to bed with wet hair. I don't go to bed with wet hair myself because it's uncomfortable and gives me a headache.

In my experience a tiny bit of hair serum and a comb is the best thing for newly washed curls. Give it a brush in the morning and dampen it slightly with a spray bottle full of water to encourage the curls to re-form.

I use Curly Kids products on my ringletty son. Find an Afro hair products shop and you’ll find loads of products that are paraban and sulphate free and so suitable for curly girl method. I only shampoo his hair once a week tops. In the mornings dampen and run through a curl defining lotion. At 7 he’s just had it cut short at his request which make life a whole lot easier Grin
