What are the stains?...if we know what the stains are caused by then it will be easier to advise

naebotherpal · 29/04/2018 10:10

I don’t Know I’m afraid. I can only think it’s just were the bag has been rubbing on other fabric.

Lovely bag! Maybe try a little (very little, do a spot test first) damp bicarb of soda.

naebotherpal · 29/04/2018 11:35

Thanks. I’ll pick some up today and give it a go. Smile

Good luck Grin let me know how it goes (if it goes!!). Another thought is to try something like turpentine (paint remover) . OR just a drop of water on a micro fibre cloth. Try it without first.

Micro fibre cloths are amazing at cleaning plastics like computer screens without anything so try one first!!

Hairspray might do the job (I've gotten ink off a bag before with hairspray) but test it on an inconspicuous area first.

ppeatfruit · 29/04/2018 13:43

OR you could take it to a shoe repair shop who would dye it for you. Probably have to be a darker colour though.

Bexter801 · 29/04/2018 13:44

Maybe cold water and salt, has to be left on or hours though

Make up remover facial cleansing wipes are excellent for lifting stains from clothes , so maybe they might work on your bag too?

arousingcheer · 05/05/2018 01:16

A clean pencil eraser might do it, or as pp says cleansing/baby wipes. Anything more solvent-based or abrasive might change the finish. Isopropyl alcohol or vodka might do the trick.

arousingcheer · 05/05/2018 01:19

Actually, have you tried a bit of plain white soap? I have some old Coach bags (the leather ones from the 80s and 90s) and have been able to remove various stains with a tiny bit of plain soap on a cotton bud.

moredoll · 05/05/2018 01:32

Try baby wipes. They take the blue denim marks off my white trainers.

MaMisled · 05/05/2018 02:04

Make a paste of bicarb of soda and coat stains. Leave for 15 mins then gently scrub with washing up liquid on a soft toothbrush. Keep repeating until. ..Hopefully. ...the marks disappear.

naebotherpal · 05/05/2018 07:43

Thanks all, but I ruined the bag by rubbing too hard Sad

So many ideas now that might have worked too!

Just have it dyed by a shoe repairs shop. !
