Cruelty-free mascara for sensitive eyes/oily lids?

Is it any wonder that I hang onto mascaras for years far longer than is recommended? It's such a PITA finding a new one and more often than not the old product that works well is no longer available in the same version.

I recently replaced my usual Barry M mascara with a slightly different version and it's a mess, my oily eyelids make it transfer everywhere. Caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror after lunch and I looked like I'd been weeping, mascara smudged above and below eyes. It seems to make my eyes sting by the end of the day too. Also using a new lash primer which seems to make it worse, so will try without, but in the meantime, any recommendations?

PUR is a cruelty free brand and I like their mascara in the pink tube. It’s a plastic thick wand, rather than fibres so it depends what you like. I know they do a waterproof version, I can’t remember if the pink one is or not. M&S stock it.

Nyx Lucious length and volume (I think is the name) is also a good one. They’re owned by L’oreal, but Nyx alone is cruelty free so I’m not sure where you stand on that.

ELF is also cruelty free, I haven’t used them but I’m meaning to as they have really good reviews and are pretty cheap.

I'd highly recommend Blinc who are cruelty free and you can order them from Beauty Bay.

Their mascaras are tubing which means that the mascara forms tiny tubes around each lash which is completely different to how normal mascara works. Once it's dry, it won't budge unless you use warm water. Even if you cry your eyes out it honestly stays put! The only it smudges for me is if I sneeze a few minutes after putting it on.

I always used to carry around tissues to remove smudges around my eyes before using Blinc. I've had better mascaras in terms of volume/lengthening etc., but I won't go back to them because the smudging's not worth it.

Thanks for recommendations. I had forgotten that I used to use a tubing mascara for just that reason, that it doesn't move. Bit trickier to apply and it dried out quickly, and the Becca one I liked got harder to find so I moved on, but maybe I'll revisit it.
