Removing Casting Creme from hair

I dyed my hair to hide the grey about 3 months ago, using l’oreal Casting creme. I don’t like the colour it turned out, it was much darker than I expected. It was supposed to last 28 washes (I think). However, I wash my hair every day and it’s still there!
I’m fed up with it now. Do those hair dye removers work? Or what about using vitamin C tablets?

Colorista do a colour fade wash. Big Superdrug's stock it.

Alternatively head and shoulders, fairy liquid or Neutragena anti dandruff are all supposed to work on fading colour quickly.

Is your hair very porous? A deep conditioner before shampooing might help lift it a bit.

I too have gone an unwanted colour from using this dye. Apparently (according to hairdresser), this is because it isn't actually semi-permanent at all; any dye that entails mixing two things together is permanent according to him.

I don't know why they are able to imply that it won't be there after 28 washes!!

Head and shoulders is good at stripping colour.
Failing that colour removers, like this work but they smell of eggs and you have to make sure you really rinse and rinse and rinse it out otherwise it can just go back to the original colour.

I have used crushed Vit C tablets, mixed with something I can’t remeber, but they made my scalp v dry.

Colour Removers are good, but you will end up with orange hair. You can use an 8 wash semi afterwards to cover the Orange.
