Coat dilemma

I'm going to London with friends at the weekend and would like some coat help. I'd really like to take just one and am sick of wearing my big thick waterproof- which is not suitable for an evening out anyway.
I'm thinking if a blazer, I have a black one and would consider buying a new one. Am thinking about this in navy.
My questions are:
What do you think about wearing a navy blazer with blue jeans?
Will I be warm enough? Forecast is about 11 degrees
What I'd really like is a very dark green blazer ( ie not too green looking). Anyone know where I can get one please?

Sounds like a good pairing! Totally get it about not wanting to lug around a big coat on an evening out, I always think of it as your inside most the time so you don't need a big jacket.

Plus if you are out dancing and drinking the chances are you wont feel the cold when you do get outside!

Dark green blazers - Zara or even ASOS for a bigger selection

Luckingfovely · 25/04/2018 11:01

Zara do these brilliant long blazers / light coats. I have a navy one and it is an absolute lifesaver this time of year.

Like blazer material and weight, but longer, looks fab on, goes with everything, good for both day and evening.

This is an example, I haven't searched for other colours.

OP, I I have the zara blazer that luckingfovely mentioned and it's the best thing I have bought in a long time. The material quality is great and makes you look sharp and smart so you can wear it for work or leisure. The navy would be suitable to wear in the spring as well as winter.

I love it so much I bought a backup one!

Thank you. I can't find a dark green one anywhere but might go for blue. I do have a nice coatigan I might take for daytime too.

You're going to London. Just take the blazer and then you may need to buy another coat from the vast array on offer there. Grin There are some lovely spring trenchcoats around.

Won't be shopping. Going with family.

Try Massimo Dutti - they do lovely blazers.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 25/04/2018 15:21

Blazer you say? How about a men's one from Moss Bros? I have a bottle green velvet smoking jacket from there - I just went for 36 Short.

onlyconnect · 25/04/2018 17:32

That's lovely Dancegirl. But more than I wanted to pay but i might go for it.

Smile Report back when it arrives!

onlyconnect · 26/04/2018 18:11

Dancegirl it arrived already. Very swift and an all round good experience in terms of communication.
I am returning the blazer however. It's a good colour and quality but not long enough. I suspected that might be the case from the pictures on the website.
Thank you anyway. It is very close to what I was looking for.

Ok I'm in London atm and it is freezing. I've got my winter coat, boots and thermals on. It's been raining iintermittent so I would rethink your outwear, a blazer will not cut it.

Dancergirl · 26/04/2018 20:05

That's a shame only, hope you manage to find something. Agree with uni - I am also in London and it is chilly! Weekend weather not looking good.

London weather for this weekend

Uniglo18 · 27/04/2018 03:42

Even though the temperature is in double figures, the wind chill brings it down to 7/8 °. You definitely need warm or cotton layers that you can remove if you get too warm but with heavy rain predicted this weekend that's very unlikely.

onlyconnect · 27/04/2018 08:18

Thank you all. I will rethink
