Aged 50 my usual haunts are
Boden
Joules
White Stuff
Modern Rarity
Hobbs
Hush
So not high fashion - but reasonable budget.
Looking for some holiday clothes trouser, nice T shirts . a pencil skirt.
Couple of smart dresses for hols and also nights out over the summer.
Nothing is exciting me in the least and the quality is pretty shocking(my latest Hush T shirt at £40 is completely transparent).
Any suggestions on brands/shops/websites to try
I'm a size 10 petite and pale colouring blue eyes tons of naturally curly highlighted hair.(If that helps)
Reignite my love of clothes please!

Jigsaw is pretty good at the moment, though not cheap. Cos is a store you either love or hate. I'm too short for their weirder clothes but have had some fantastic dresses and tops from there. I also trawl The Outnet a lot. The prices range from bargain to heart-attack-inducing, depending on the brand. They have a clearance sale every so often, which is great, but you have to be quick off the mark. Me and Em has lovely clothes - quite pricy but they have a clearance section too.

Good luck. I'm a few years older than you and in general I think summer fashions have been pretty terrible over the last few years. It just means you have to look that bit harder though.

Forgot to mention AllSaints. They seem incapable of cutting a straight line, especially in their dresses, but their t-shirts are really soft and well cut.

Try uniqlo, i buy most of my clothes from there, i'm quite near c london so can visit the shops but once you know the size you are it's easy to order

I’ve just ordered a couple of ted baker tops in John Lewis sale
Also discovered bargain max studio at tkmaxx

I really like Baukjen, there is usually a discount for new customers and cash back too

MidlifeChic really rates Finery. I've not bought anything from there though so can't comment on the fit (I'm also short). Anthropologie has a petite range, as does Coast. I use TryTuesday to find the better M&S stuff (obv they have a lot of short trousers but I don't have much time for their t-shirt collection, it's very pedestrian). Toast gets some love on here for its use of natural fabrics but it is pricey.

To throw in a wildcard I like ASOS just for the sheer range and powerful search function. It's useful for crystalising what I like and what's the price range I need to look at. I've bought everything from a £6 sweatshirt to a Hugo Boss silk shirt from there.

Otherwise I agree with a lot of the recommendations above. Love COS (keep meaning to look at Arket and Weekend as well), Uniqlo, Jigsaw (their silk batwing tops are available in lovely colours this year).

At the moment there aren't that many places where I'd buy new:
Uniqlo - particularly like the U range.
H&M - but less and less often.
Toast - not so much the dresses but I like their trousers and tops. The last T shirts I bought from them were excellent - as they should be at that price. Good sales.
Cos - on the rare occasions I can get to a store. Don't get me started on their website.
Kin at John Lewis.
Occasionally M&S, especially Autograph but not recently.
Celtic & Co knitwear - only got two things but they're great.
Me and Em - good sales.

I may also check out:
& Other Stories.
Jigsaw - just bought some trousers in a charity shop and quite impressed.
